5.0 out of 5 stars Can't stop playing this CD, January 18, 2000
This review is from: Anthology (Audio CD)
This is long awaited. I was looking for the Freddie McGregor Jet-Star Reggae Max collection. But I am so glad that I bought this instead.

I've watched Freddie from his days as a mere local artiste in Jamaica to his cross-over into the international market. This collection fully documents his career.

The first CD is especially chocked full of hits. Even if you weren't a fan of Freddie before you should buy this CD. Everyone that has heard my copy, wants a copy of their own.

JUST BUY IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars A true master of Reggae Music!!!, August 23, 2000
By
Rob Lanning (Toronto, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anthology (Audio CD)
This 2cd anthology covers the full spectrum of Freddie McGregor's career perfectly. Songs like "Stop Loving You" and "Guantanamera" have shook many dancehall floors. Yet songs like "And So I Will Wait For You" and "Just Don't Wanna Be Lonely" show that Freddie is a master of love songs. And yet the true Rastaman in Freddie comes out in songs like "I Feel Secure" and "Prophecy." Mr. McGreagor is vastly under-rated in the International music scene. These 2cds are a must for any Reggae fan, but also make a great addition to any collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Natural Collie Business, February 20, 2002

I could not wait to hear this cd. From the first cut, "Big Ship" to the last cut "Come and Get It". Bought back memories of 'yard'clubs like Reggae Lounge in Manhattan and Love People in Brooklyn. Brotha Freddie sings his [best]! Truly, truly a champion. If you love true 'yard music' this cd is a MUST HAVE for your collection.
