3.0 out of 5 stars more than one hit wonders
I always thought Sky High a great record and as I could not remember much of their other stuff I bought this CD on the strength of that. Also in the mid-sities attended college with Clive Scott and got to know him a little bit. The rest of the CD is not quite up to the standard of Sky High but competent well crafted pop music of the era. Some of it is a bit too...

This band, Jigsaw, formed in Coventry, England, in 1966. The band was one of the hottest local club bands, featuring a high energy, live show. The band consisted of members, Des Dyer, lead vocalist, and drummer. Clive Scott, keyboards, and vocals.Barry Bernard, bass guitar, and vocals. Tony Campbell, lead guitar. Tony Britnell, saxophone. And Kevin Mahon, saxophone The band really came together in the early 1970s, with the song writing duo of Des Dyer and Clive Scott, writing more mainstream pop songs. The band had hit records in Britain and the United States in the mid seventies. With songs such as Who Do You Think You Are, and Sky High, Love Fire and Brand New Love Affair. The band never recieved the recognition they deserved, I feel, they were one of the tightest most polished, and underrated bands of their era, bar none! The Anthology Album, contains a very good cross section of the band material, which showcases, the fine song writing, vocals and playing this band was know for. Recommend Highly! great slice of seventies pop rock.

The rest of the CD is not quite up to the standard of Sky High but competent well crafted pop music of the era. Some of it is a bit too 'seventies' for my ears but listenable non-the-less. Probably won't find a regular place on the CD player though.

I bought the cd because it had 2 songs that I enjoyed growing up, "Sky High" which can be found on most 70's compilation albums and "Love Fire" which is hard to find accept on this album or other Greatest hits of Jigsaw album. I had it on vinyl, but I wanted it on a more current media. This particular cd also included some liner notes on the inside sleeve which makes for ok reading while listening to the cd. I couldn't tell you about the rest of the album, I only bought it for those particular songs. -J. Huff
