Hensley's best 1972 - 1980,
By
This review is from: Anthology (Audio CD)
The album features Ken Hensley's best songs not used for Uriah Heep while Ken was the bands keyboard player and main song writer. Some of the early songs feature performances from members of Uriah Heep. Beautiful ballads and moody rockers dominate this album, but a few rockers finish this collection of Hensley's finest.

Ken Hensley at his BEST ! ! !,

This review is from: Anthology (Audio CD)
Having spent years on Keyboards and second Guitarist with Uriah Heep, Ken has put together some of his own masterpieces on this CD. It starts out with a kick-ass rocker "When Evening Comes" a song that I have liked since it's release on the original "Proud Words" album. All of the music on this CD sounds as good today as it did when originally released. And it has the ability to fit today's music as well, except for the fact that most of the songs on this CD are MORE melodic than everything that is released today ! ! !
A truely GREAT addition to anyone's collection. And you will play this CD until it is worn out and you have to buy another copy.

I had the LPs Proud Words and Eager to Please in the 70 's, and I liked especially Proud Words a lot. This album contains most of the best tracks (in my opinion) on the two LPs, plus some newer tracks. Takes me back to the mid-70 's. Nice.

Good friend of mine ordered this CD for me this spring(shortly after its release) and since then it has become one of the most frequently played CDs in my household. The reason is very simple, I love Ken's music so much and the 'Anthology' represents best of his solo efforts.Beautifuly nostalgic 'Through the Eyes Of A Child' just takes me to 'another world'.It is followed by other amazing tunes like 'Rain','From Time To Time','Cold Autumn Sunday','Brown Eyed Boy'...This is,in my opinion, one of few albums at all that have no weak spot and are pure pleasure to listen to from very beginning to the very end.Bravo and thanks to Ken for this jewell.
