"Shooting Star" is one of those '80s rock bands that never got the exposure and airplay they deserved (in my opinion.) This compilation has their biggest hits from the '80s and includes a few tracks from the '90s and beyond. "Last Chance" (the nearly seven minute hit from their eponymous debut) and "Hang On For Your Life", "Are You on My Side", "Flesh and Blood", "Breakout", and "Hollywood" (all from "Hang On For Your Life") were just some of the popular hits in my neck of the woods. Like "Kansas" (the band) they were not afraid to mix strings with electric guitars, drums, keyboards, and vocals to produce catchy songs. This two CD set is well worth the price. Please note that the Renaissance Records release of "Anthology" differs from other releases of the anthology, most notably the inclusion of "Flesh and Blood" which other reviewers have stated is missing. So for reference, here is the actual track listing from the Renaissance Records version of "Anthology" (RMEDO339), including the song lengths and the respective releases they originated on:

Disc One
1. You've Got What I Need (from Shooting Star) 3:49
2. Bring It On (from Shooting Star) 4:49
3. Tonight (from Shooting Star) 4:42
4. Rainfall (from Shooting Star) 2:53
5. Last Chance (from Shooting Star) 6:54
6. Hang On For Your Life (from Hang On For Your Life) 3:26
7. Are You On My Side (from Hang On For Your Life) 3:18
8. Flesh and Blood (from Hang On For Your Life) 5:48
9. Hollywood (from Hang On For Your Life) 4:12
10. Breakout (from Hang On For Your Life) 3:42
11. Are You Ready (from III Wishes) 3:16
12. Heartache (from III Wishes) 3:54
13.

This is a good compilation of Shooting Stars albums. That being said ,I had to knock off one star for the omission of the track Flesh And Blood. Normally one track out of so many would not constitute such a decision. But that one track was one of the greatest tracks this fine band ever recorded. Even so, if your on a budget and don't want to get all their albums, get this along with Hang On For Your Life ( which includes Flesh And Blood ) and you will process some great classic RnR.

I have not purchased this collection. I love Shooting Star and I am reviewing this as a consumer looking to upgrade their record collection to DVD. I can see omitting a few lesser songs that some people like, over other songs that other people like (like "Stranger" from the first album), but it is unthinkable to omit major hits from an anthology collection. "Flesh and Blood" is a major song from the "Hang on for your life" album and easily one of their best songs in general. There are many other songs that should have been scratched to make room for this. Even worse is that "Do You Feel Alright" is also missing. One of their all time best songs and THE biggest song from the "III Wishes" album. It was to "III Wishes" what "Last Chance" was to the first album. It's an unforgivable omission. What good is an anthology if you still have to buy the individual CDs to get all the hits?

**EDIT: It has come to my attention that this Shooting Star CD shows up when searching for the band 707. Since it is just titled "Anthology", and both bands have Anthology CD's, there has been some confusion. Amazon has something screwed up, I guess. This review is for the Shooting Star Anthology, NOT the 707 Anthology.
