5.0 out of 5 stars Olga can TEAR!!!
I could go on and on about how these guys write hilarious little punk songs with titles like "Carol Dobbs is Pregnant" or "James Bond Lives Down Our Street," or I could tell you how the songs are so darn catchy that after you listen to a handful of them two or three times, they never leave your head, but the real draw for me to the Toy Dolls is this:

Olga...

3.0 out of 5 stars gayer than I thought
Actually it's not that good. The Bare Faced Cheeck album had a few good songs on it, so I thought that a best of must have too. Not so true after all.

Olga (the singer, songwriter and guitarist) is the single best punk guitarist I have ever heard in my life.

Seriously, he tears. He can shred at a hundred miles an hour and solo like an 80's metal god. It's just incredible. If he didn't sound like a leprechaun and write absurd songs like "Ernie Had A Hernia" he'd probably get more recognition for his guitar playing talent (Eddie Van Halen complitmented him on his playing skill).

Anyway, the songs themselves are really fun, very bouncy and upbeat. And its an anthology, so that means you get two jam packed discs of their best material for $15, its a great buy for those who like their punk fun and funny (Adicts, Dickies, Vandals and Ramones fans should totally dig it). Some of the songs start to sound the same after a while (though thats true of even the best punk bands) but the blistering guitar work, overall fun vibe you get from it, and the fact that its almost two and a half hours of music for $15 easily make up for that.

If you want a refreshing, original sounding break from all your Fat Wreck and Epitaph soundalike bands, and you don't take your music too seriously, the Toy Dolls Anthology is a no-brainer for your CD collection.

This CD rocks because you can tell that they must have had fun making it. All the songs seem to have a 'tongue in cheek' kind of flavor, but the guitar riffs have got to be some of the best not only in punk but in music as a whole. I loved this CD because the songs are about every day things that we can all relate to, like 'Ernie had a hernia' or 'I've got Asama' I don't know why but they give me a chuckle and you can't help but love them, and try as you may you can't get them out of your head.
