From Library Journal
Falk offers a solid biography of Welsh actor Hopkins. Hopkins agreed to cooperate fully with Falk in forging this account with only two provisos: that Falk not interview his first wife and as much as possible respect the deliberate anonymity of the self-help group for alcoholics to which Hopkins has devoted so much time. Falk is wise enough to let his subject speak for himself. The result is a highly enjoyable and entertaining book, but if you're looking for an in-depth evaluation of the actor's craft or life, look elsewhere. Libraries will probably find the public's interest in Hopkins high following his Oscar-winning performance in Silence of the Lambs and his current success in The Remains of the Day and Shadowlands. An excellent popular biography for public libraries.
