It seems like a lot of reviewers care more about whether an electric pre-shave makes it easier for the razor to glide over the face than about whether the pre-shave is actually effective.

This is a truly effective pre-shave. Period. It literally gives you a closer shave than you would have without the product. If you experience "drag" that's no different from using no pre-shave, you haven't used enough. Apply liberally. I do, and have no problem at all with "drag."

I started using the product a couple of years ago after I was gifted a top of the line Braun to replace my latest Norelco (and I had been using a Norelco for ages). The Braun took more work to get a closer shave. I began using the Anthony Logistics pre-shave and voila! a close shave again. I'm glad to see the product here on Amazon, because the local Sephora outlets stopped carrying it. Happily, I found a treasure trove on clearance ($4 a bottle!) at a couple of local Marshalls -- I cleaned both places out of a total of ten bottles -- but when those run out, I will still come back and buy them here. It's worth it for the easier -- yes, easier -- and certainly closer shave.

Do not buy this product. It is not an effective electric pre-shave solution. This product actually increases drag and friction vs. shaving untreated beard/skin. I bought this on Drugstore.com (Beauty.com) because I needed electric shave solution and they do not carry my usual brand, Lab Series for Men. What a mistake. I've used this Anthony product after skipping a day shaving and also shaving daily. It does not work. Now, after a few tries, I'm throwing nearly a full bottle of this product away. Save your money, or else buy Lab Series for Men's Electric Shave Solution (which is sold on Amazon!). It works great! By the way, I use a Norelco SensoTouch 3D shaver.

I have tried this product on three different occasions. It DOES NOT enable the electric razor to slide smoothly across one's face. The whole experience is extremely unsatisfactory. My preference for smoothness and light smell is the pre electric lotion from Lab Series. Don't waste your money on this Anthony product.
