I write crime novels. PSYCHOSOMATIC, THE DRUMMER, and the Billy Lafitte series--YELLOW MEDICINE, HOGDOGGIN', and THE BADDEST ASS (forthcoming in 2013) My e-original CHOKE ON YOUR LIES was published in January 2011. ALL THE YOUNG WARRIORS from Blasted Heath Press was published in Nov. '11. My entry in Lee Goldberg and William Rabkin's DEAD MAN series, COLDER THAN HELL, was published by 47North in January, '13. I publish the online noir zine PLOTS WITH GUNS (www.plotswithguns.com), currently edited by Sean O'Kane. I'm the Chair of the English Department at Southwest Minnesota State University. I like tacos. Anthony Neil Smith is a mystery/crime fiction writer who has had over thirty of his short stories published in literary magazines and crime writing zines. He is the co-editor/co-creator of the well-received online noir journal Plots with Guns. He is also an associate editor with the highly-regarded literary magazine Mississippi Review, having put together several special issues featuring crime fiction for the online edition. He is Director of the English Department at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. As Smith was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, a portion of the proceeds of every copy of The Drummer sold is donated to Foundations For Recovery, a charitable organization servicing victims of Hurricane Katrina. |
