5.0 out of 5 stars Not an easy quick fix! Works if you do the work!
I really enjoyed the program, I disagree with the other review on this product completely. Personal Power II is a day to day regimented program over 30 days where Get the Edge in my opinion gives several tools to be used over broader areas of focus. Like learning anything new it takes work. Don't expect to just listen to the CD's and wake up the next morning a new...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I am a big Tony Robbins fan. I purchased his first program, Personal Power II and found it very helpful. I improved my confidence and decision making skills with that program and the direct benefits well outweighed the cost. Get The Edge was not as beneficial for me. 1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, May 5, 2004
This review is from: Anthony Robbins Get the Edge - CD
I am a big Tony Robbins fan. I purchased his first program, Personal Power II and found it very helpful. I improved my confidence and decision making skills with that program and the direct benefits well outweighed the cost. Get The Edge was not as beneficial for me. I found it to be not nearly as focused and organized as Personal Power. Tony seemed to be all over the place in this program and resorted more to story telling than anything else. I listened to it twice and returned it for a refund. Not recommended unless you just like listening to Tony talk.

Tony Robbins is an awesome salesman, very charismatic and a master story teller. He has a lot of good things to say and a lot of his advice is practical. However, do keep in mind that Tony's goal is to sell you on every seminar, book, CD and any other products that his various companies offer - and those of his friends! I have also bought Personal Power II and felt that the information of real value on both CD sets combined could be condensed down to one single 7-day program. However, as with anything, it all depends on what you are looking for and what you get out of this is up to you. If anything, you will be very impressed with Tony's amazing ability to sell himself and his arsenal of products!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun and High-Energy (...if a little shallow and unfulfilling), June 27, 2006
This review is from: Anthony Robbins Get the Edge - CD
Anthony Robbins is a very inspirational speaker. Just listening to him in the mornings does, I believe, get me more excited about the day to come, and the more excited I am, the more I can get done.

There's a lot to recommend about Anthony Robbins.

On the other hand, this particular product--Get the Edge--is a slight letdown. He concentrates too much on anecdotes, and pulls material from his workshops (usually anecdotes, too), and jumps from topic to topic instead of really going in depth. For instance, one CD is relationships, the next is health and fitness and the one after that is finance. Personal Power II is a more extensive, in-depth presentation, and if you're new to Anthony Robbins I suggest getting that over this. (They cost just about the same.)

About Robbins' using these CDs to sell his other courses and seminars, etc., I have to say: I don't doubt that he'd like to sell his other stuff, but I really do believe he's genuine and sincere in his efforts, here. He mentions his other products from time to time, but does not pitch them directly. If it is a sell (and of course it is), it's a very soft sell.

In short, Robbins is exciting and fun to listen to. This set has value just because of that. However, because he covers a wide range of topics, and covers them quickly and mostly anecdotally, this particular set leaves something to be desired. His other line, Personal Power II, is more in-depth and therefore, in my opinion, is a better overall value.

I recently saw Tony Robbins at a benefit in San Diego. He talked for about two hours and changed my life. By the end of the two hours he had reminded me that life is about what you put into it. He taught us all how to recognize the relationship between the physical state of your being and the emotional. I started this program last week with the Hour of Power. I walk every morning and listen and follow this great daily empowerment. This alone is worth the reasonable price I got from an ebay seller. If you really put yourself in a place where you can listen and learn from him you won't be disappointed. Open your mind and let Tony teach you a thing or two.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jump in this Program, January 15, 2007
This review is from: Anthony Robbins Get the Edge - CD
I loved Personal Power. Personal Power is, well, powerful. Doing the exercises in the journal is helpful. Doing the hour of power is helpful. If you order this set, do ALL the assignments/exercises.
The part of Get the Edge I liked best was track #2 of Financial Freedom, which was Tony's account of going from rags to riches. The story was very inspirational. The resale value of Get the Edge seems to be pretty good so take the chance.

1.0 out of 5 stars Robbins is ALL over the place. Awful CD Program., June 20, 2010

This review is from: Anthony Robbins Get the Edge - CD
I've seen Tony Robbins where he's been dynamic and life transforming, but I'm sorry.... this "Get the Edge" CD set is almost painful to listen to. Tony goes on and on for HOURS, in an unstructured, almost chaotic way. He bounces around from thought to thought, sometimes losing his train of thought and going off topic for 5-10 minutes before he finally comes back to what he was originally talking about. He also sounds as if he is taking bumps of crystal meth throughout the entire CD program. He's so jacked up, that he almost doesn't even make sense at points.

I was a HUGE Tony Robbins guy, still am, but I can't even listen to these CDs. I found a similar problem with this Personal Power II program. Tony is best in a Q&A format, where he can stick to the subject at hand. He gets so juiced up about what he's talking about, that he so very often starts ranting and raving about something completely unrelated to the topic. Not easy to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Return on Investment will Last a Lifetime, November 21, 2009

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for and is worth every single dime as the strategies and insights will last a lifetime.

Tony's strategies make rock-slid common sense once you hear him explain. I have listened to all of the information in this set at least 4 times and each time I hear another layer of insight I wasn't ready to soak up the time I listed before.

I highly suggest you listen to these in a variety of locations---at home, in your car, etc. Different environments allow you to pick up new and additional associative information each time you listen for both your professional and personal lives.

As long as Tony keeps producing new products, I'll keep buying them!

5.0 out of 5 stars I recommend anything Tony Robbins has to be read, December 24, 2011

I think sometimes we analyze too much. Tony has been given a God given ability to move people and share his energy and intensity with the world. This CD series is an excellent one to listen to even though some of the things are repetitive from Personal Power but still effective.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new follower of Robbins!, August 1, 2005

As someone who never listened to any of Robbins earlier work, I am impressed, the only catch is that it requires you to do some work too!
He demonstrates a great scientific knowledge relating to food and health, most of which you can easily check through a google search.
A lot of his knowledge can be called old timey common sense, 40 years ago if you were constantly getting sick, and a person who never exercised and just ate tons of junk food, the doctor wouldnt just create some new dysfunction to diagnose you, he'd say "LOOK, you fool, you are causing yourself harm (lack of exercise and diet)!" Robbins will do that!
It requires an actual commitment but I think this will make you feel better in your real life! IT IS AN EDGE!
