I bought this without smelling it first in a store. Mistake. From the description, it sounds like it would be a nice citrus scent with just a hint of sweetness (kumquat). Wrong. The primary smell is alcohol, followed by a floral lily type smell (the exact opposite of what I was going for). In the way, way background is the distant memory of grapefruit (tarter than pomelo--which is what this is supposed to be!). In other words, the description bears no resemblance to the actual smell, which is like cheap motel air freshener.

It's a gorgeous bottle, and it really adds a beautiful element to our bathroom, but for the price, it's not worth having a pretty bottle without a halfway decent smell. Strangely, the Anthousa candles I bought (citrus grove) smelled awesome, which makes this all the more disappointing.

This diffuser gives off a gentle clean aroma that many (men and women) love. I should have bought stock in this scent as we keep buying and visitors regularly ask where to get it.

This is not like some overpowering perfume smell. Just lovely. (And seems to last for a year+ if not in direct breeze.) Sometimes difficult to find, but hold out for this scent...2 sizes.

The Anthousa diffusers are the best in the market. I highly suggest adding these to several rooms in your home. They make terrific hostess gifts as well.
