About the Author

Z. Altug, M.S., P.T., is a former physical therapist at the UCLA Medical Center.  He is also a personal trainer and fitness consultant.  A member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Physical Therapy Association, he lives in Los Angeles, CA. Tracy Gensler, M.S., R.D., is a nutritionist and health writer who writes for Self Magazine, Nick Junior Magazine, the Good Housekeeping website, and many others. She lives in Chevy Chase, MD, with her husband and two daughters.

Z Altug, PT, MS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, is a licensed physical therapist and fitness consultant. He specializes in orthopedics, geriatrics, sports medicine, sports performance, and fitness. He is also the coauthor of two books and a fitness calendar.

He is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT).

I am a former exercise instructor with a nuitrition background. I wish I had a book like this years ago to recommend to my classes. It's everything a person needs to get started and keep focused on the road to good health.

With my busy life I am glad to have this well written and easy to follow book. As a healthy eater, the recipes are well balanced and easy to follow.

I bought this book and didn't know what to expect. I couldn't be more pleased! Although the excercises are for beginners, I make my excercises a little harder by using a higher resistance exercise band. The recipes have easy throw-together instructions and I like everything I've tried so far, especially the filo ricotta chips. I highly recommend this book! I also bought a copy for my parents who are both 70 and they love it too.

As a physical therapist, I was impressed by the comprehensive approach to health and fitness that this book offered to its readers. I especially appreciated the section covering stress and sleep, which is all too often left out of an exercise program. The use of nutrition and exercise in conjunction with each other, really offers a reader a lifestyle rather than just a program to follow. It is made easy, fun and very do-able for even the most sceptical. As I leader and director of a facility, I have already recommended this book to my patients and my therapists to use as a resource for home exercises programs.
