Anti-Coloring Book of Celebrations, June 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Anti-Coloring Book of Celebrations: Creative Activities for Ages 6 and Up (Paperback)
All of Susan Striker's Anti-Coloring Books are great for use in the elementary school classroom. They are wonderful sources of ideas for young writers (grades 1- 5) who just need a spark to get them writing. Books in the series can be put at writing centers for the children to work on independently and later share with a small group of peers. They are also great for encouraging children to write about a variety of everyday events, people, feelings, and so on, in their journals. Striker's series is a highly motivating and inexpensive way to get the creative juices flowing!

Great thought-provoking art activity book for holidays, December 16, 2008
This review is from: The Anti-Coloring Book of Celebrations: Creative Activities for Ages 6 and Up (Paperback)
I bought this at the same time as the Anti-Coloring book for Red Letter Days, but I like this one better. One thing that is better about this book is that it has a perpetual calendar in the front. I haven't been OC enough to make sure there is something to celebrate for every single day of the year, but if she's missing a day I'd be surprised. The Red Letter Day book does have more pages devoted to the major holidays, but this one covers many more holidays because each holiday just gets one 2-page spread. Also, this is the first book Striker made that has book suggestions on every page, and often has a quote or fact as well. Great resource for teachers or parents.
