Retains microwave heat well; a bit heavy and shifty,
By I had a buckwheat pillow before. The buckwheat is quite a bit lighter weight, but it doesn't retain heat as well. This flax seed pillow also allows the stuffing to shift around quite a lot so it can go flat in the back of your neck and heavy at the ends of the "u" shape when you're sitting up. So if you want light weight, get the buckwheat. If you want good lasting heat, get this. I do wish they'd used a darker colored cover.

Being one of those unfortunate few with back and neck problems, I have always longed for a product such as this that conforms to your body unlike traditional heating pads and can be heated or frozen. It's has worked wonders for my neck and shoulder area and am considering wearing it in the car, in the office, on the plane, etc. I'm very pleased with the product, the super fast shipping and it even has a wonderful lavendar smell to it that is quite soothing when the neck muscles get super tense and tight. I would highly recommend this product to anyone suffering from chronic neck and shoulder pain.

This product is not light weight. Its not supposed to be. As a massage therapist I see people everyday with tight, sore Trap muscles(back of neck/shoulder), either from working the muscles or from carrying stress. Heat this item and sit with it on your shoulders, shifting more of the weight of the item towards TOP/BACK of shoulders. If it feels too heavy then most of the weight is probably in the wrong place. I love this item and use it on myself and my clients and I just purchased more! thank you

Since I've gotten this "pillow," I've slept without a conventional one, and have had less stress and pain in my upper back and neck than I ever have had in the past. My chiropractor recommends that I keep using it.
It's very comfortable, and the cover washes/dries easily.

Comfort,

Very comforting. I turn it label side down for the most coverage. Microwave with the cover on for the most heat.

This pillow somehow seams to relieve stress. It also reduces neck pain if you have a habit of falling asleep in a chair as I frequently do.

I have used other microwave heat neck therapy pillows and this is the best by far..molds to your neck and has flexibility to get where you need it most.

I have chronic pain issues and couldn't live without my "heaty bags". I wish it stayed hotter longer, but that depends on whether it's under the covers, room temp, etc.
Well, I used mine to death and bought a new one (and the very similar comfort wrap as well-the difference being loops at the end, a couple inches more in length, and a bit less quantity filler, yet more shifting filler because of the lack of curvature on the latter-it's just a long tube with loops at each end). I was glad to see that these were still around and unchanged. I find the shiftability to be helpful to get it just-so and maximize comfort, say if I want to lie on it... to give you an idea, if you shake the Comfort Wrap and pack all the filler to one end, it would tightly fill just under half the bag... but you wouldn't want to lie on a round, full tube of it; first of all, it wouldn't heat well, plus it would be a hard lump, and not make good skin contact either, so instead it's got wiggle room so it can mold to you. The Neck Pillow is more like 2/3 full, so it's fuller than the other one. I have no problem getting either one to stay how I want it. I couldn't live without them-or sleep without them. I had to get new ones straight away after abusing and wearing mine out over 2 or 3 year's extreme use (yes, I tote them around a lot and overheat them, I need extreme heat!) Depending on your microwave, the time will vary. After one minute, just go every 30 seconds-and you'll get the feel for your preference with your microwave. The 2 minute rule is their legal liability to prevent burning you or the contents, for those that lack common sense. Even after I burned 'em to bits and they got a bit of burned smell, I still used 'em with my own essential oil spray. They were fine, I only tossed one after using it to help my terminally ill pet have a little comfort too (I was careful to monitor heat for her), and the other one I just used indoors, outdoors, and basically trashed it. Otherwise, they'll last much longer. A plus is that the bag the neck pillow comes in is perfect for holding my meds, I can always see what's what and keep them from falling off the nightstand too. Very sturdy and reusable.

I was expecting the item to be softer, but it pretty much feels like a bag of moist sand. However, the heat lasts a good while. Turns out they have the same item at Bed Bath & Beyond. After paying the shipping, I would have gotten it cheaper there.

This pillow is pretty good but a little small. It tends to get quite hot very quickly in the microwave - in just a couple of minutes. My skin gets very red whenever I use it. It does help relax the muscles on the neck and shoulders. The older version I had was more effective.
