Installation is not as hard as everyone wines about, the static of the sheet suctions it onto the screen..then you just press out the bubbles.

BUT once I had it on I realized..it does not work as described at all.

I bought this item because it says "Anti-Glare" in the title. It is essentially a clear screen protector. When I applied it I could still use the screen as a mirror if it came down to it. I was aiming for the affect that my Power Support HD Anti-Glare screens have on my iPhone, which turns my iPhone screen perfectly matte.

This is great product, there's technique on how to apply the film, once you get it right, it's easy. I followed the installation on this review. [...]
It's $300 to replace a matt screen or a cheaper option, which is to buy this film. But be aware, you need a lot of patience to apply this film. The things that will help you is a scotch tape, if you have dust on the static side, take a piece a tape to take the dust particle out. DO NOT USE HAND. ALWAYS USE A TAPE to lift up the film and take the dust out.

I purchased the Power Support anti-glare film for my MacBook Pro and spent a few minutes talking to the salesperson at the Apple Store, who cautioned me that I would need to take my time and be careful in order to get a flawless installation. I followed his advice and set the computer on my lap with the screen flat on my legs and the base against my stomach. I was also prepared with screen cleaner, a microfiber cloth, my driver's license, and adhesive tape at the ready. Following the instructions carefully, I made sure that the screen was perfectly clean and lint-free before starting to apply the film at the top of the screen. I used my driver's license to uniformly adhere the film to the screen as I slowly and carefully peeled the backing from it. When small air bubbles became trapped under the film, I pulled up gently to peel back the film and release the bubble, then used the driver's license to reapply the film, working slowly from top to bottom. I only had to use the adhesive tape a few times to remove dust or lint particles, with the minor inconvenience of having to "back up" a bit to get my tape-wrapped finger under the film. All in all, the process took about 1/2 hour, and from what I've seen in Apple's stores, the result is every bit as good as their factory matte display option. If you're impatient or don't want to risk losing $35 by installing this yourself, you can have the Apple Store install it for you. They will charge you for the service, but that way if the result isn't satisfactory they will be responsible to do it over again. At least, that is what I was told at the store I went to. I would assume Apple has a uniform policy on this, but to be safe, check with them first. It may be that they only offer the service if you buy the film from them in the first place...
I hope this review is helpful!

Put this anti-glare on yesterday and tried using it at work today. I had high hopes of being able to use it while outside in the sun. Sadly i have not even gotten the chance to test that out and I already know I have to send this back. Everything looks fine until you actually turn your laptop on. Anything with a white background will look like it is covered in speckles. I understand some speckles as its part of how they get a glossy screen to be anti-glare, however, this is ridiculous. I know someone who has Power Supports antiglare for their iphone and it looks great. It has speckles but they are much much less noticeable than on the laptop. I don't know if they are using some different process or what. I do know however that this is causing me eye strain at the moment and I cannot wait until I can take it off tonight.

One thing of note, the darker the background colors, the less noticeable the speckling is. With dark greys you can't even notice it at all. But white backgrounds will drive a person crazy.

After putting this anti-glare film on my MacBook, it was distracting to look at the screen because the film wasn't really clear. And it wasn't because of any air bubbles. There is a certain pattern on the film that makes viewing the screen difficult and distracting. I would recommend avoiding anti-glare films in general because you'll end up with some dust on the sticky film as you're trying to hopelessly apply it perfectly. Dust, air bubbles, and annoying patterns on the film are just too many distracting barriers between you and the pixels.

You have 1 trial to get this thing works perfectly, so be prepared before open the it. I've received the package with just the product, no instruction whatsoever. I opened it and ... took me 2 hours to get it barely works. My screen is full of bubbles. It makes sense that it is only half price because you will need 2, 1 for practice, 1 for real.

There is no change at all with than without the anti-glare. It might just be a protection against scratches but not what it promises
