5.0 out of 5 stars Historically accurate!!!
While I may not agree with everything this author writes, the fact of the matter is that history is replete with great men of God who recognized the Papacy as the Antichrist, and now, more than ever, it is vitally important to recognize this. The Papacy has set itself up to be the "mouthpiece" for Christ on the earth, when in fact, the Papacy is not in the line of Peter...

1.0 out of 5 stars I was very disappointed!
I ordered this book because I'm attending Bible School and had to do a position paper on eschatology. I was hoping for a scholarly work and good Bible exegesis. I was also hoping that someone could rebut the bad scholarship and nonsense of the "Left Behind" series. Unfortunately, the book was filled with the tired, old, worn-out ideas and cliches that the Pope...

While I may not agree with everything this author writes, the fact of the matter is that history is replete with great men of God who recognized the Papacy as the Antichrist, and now, more than ever, it is vitally important to recognize this. The Papacy has set itself up to be the "mouthpiece" for Christ on the earth, when in fact, the Papacy is not in the line of Peter the Apostle. There's not one mention of this fact. Christ didn't appoint Peter the first Pope, but the true "Church" are those who have put their faith and trust in Christ for their salvation.

This is not a "re-tread," but highly important teaching. Wake-up Christians!! It's closer than you think!!!

In "The Antichrist Chronicles" Steve Wohlberg uses Scripture to refute the pre-trib rapture theory.

He addresses the sources of the preterist and futurist theology. They both are products of the Jesuits(Francisco Ribera and Luis de Alacasar)and the Council of Trent. This was part of the "counter-reformation",a reponse to Martin Luther and other leaders of the reformation.

A central part of this book pertains to the thoughts of the Protestant Reformers concerning the papacy and prophecies.

"Historicism is the belief that the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation find fulfillment throughout the history of Christianity."-from the book.

"Historicism recognises 'the falling away' that Paul predicted."-also from the book.

This is the "falling away" found in II Thess.2:1-3.

This is a good book, especially if you want to read about historicism and the differences between it and futuristic theology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blessed Book!!!, December 6, 2011

Ever since the Left Behind series was out, I believed in this theory that God will come and take HIS church and those who are left behind and did not accept Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior will have to stay on this earth and defend themselves from the anti-christ, this one evil man controlling the world.

After reading two of Mr. Wohlberg's books "the Left Behind Deception" and "The Antichrist Chronicles" the truth was unfolding before my eyes. I couldn't believe how foolish I was to believe in the "Left Behind theory" that the anti-christ would be revealed after the God's Church is raptured or taken up. There were several scriptures in the bible that pointed out that the anti-christ was already here and at work. This dynamic book opens up the the bible based scriptures to the Truth. If the truth is what you want to hear and believe in, then I encourage you to read this book. It is bible based, and Mr. Wohlberg does have supporting evidence of scriptures and history listed for the reader to examine. I am very glad I made this purchase and have bought two other books as well. All I can say is Thank you Lord Jesus for the Truth,Your Truth, has changed my mind, my life and my spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus!

I was also hoping that someone could rebut the bad scholarship and nonsense of the "Left Behind" series. Unfortunately, the book was filled with the tired, old, worn-out ideas and cliches that the Pope and the Catholic Church figure heavily in the end times as being aligned with the "beast".
I'm not Catholic, so I have no axe to grind there, but I found the book to be not very convincing and just a retread of old ideas.
