Grade 5-8-These slim books contain a wealth of information. Each battle is discussed in terms of the larger picture and the reasons behind the fighting. While volumes have been written on the respective wars, these titles synthesize the major points and present them clearly without oversimplification. Readers looking for the facts will feel well informed and those who already have some background on the period will learn more about the significance of each specific battle to the outcome of the war, and to the future of the United States.
