Book Description

A bond forged in battle...

Home from the deserts of Iraq, Nicholas Cross wants nothing more than to start over as a civilian. Together with his best friend, Thomas Abelard, a former US Army Ranger, Nicholas enjoys the quiet life—until a young actress's suicide is called into question. Nicholas and Thomas peel back the layers of her life and discover a woman in over her head.

A relentless enemy...

For Nicholas, however, the stakes turn personal as the mystery deepens and his past comes back to haunt him. The death toll rises as the two veterans encounter a ruthless foe who'll stop at nothing to protect a dark secret. Nicholas is forced to dodge hostile operatives, the police, and dangerous questions about his identity—and his past—as he tries to piece together the evidence and protect the last witness.

A secret worth killing for...

Nicholas and Thomas find themselves in a desperate race against time as they struggle to uncover the explosive truth behind...

5.0 out of 5 stars An outstanding read! December 6, 2011

I'm often a hard sell for a new author. I tend to stick to names I've read before. However...Antigone's Fall took my breath away with the whirlwind tour of Puget Sound and the nearby neighborhoods! I am hooked and can't wait to see what happens next for Nicholas and Miranda. What a team! Military tactics, private eye stealth, and Pacific Northwest backdrop. Love it. I'm ready for Praetorian Agenda's release!

R. K. Macpherson, you have a new fan! Thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Multi-Level Mystery/Thriller October 18, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This action adventure story hits the ground running and doesn't stop. This is a book that will catch your interest from the first page. The past and present storylines are both equally compelling. The characters are people that you would actually like to know ... I found myself caring about what might happen to them almost from the start. The dialogue is witty, smart and sometimes just down right funny.
I didn't want this book to end and was pleasantly surprised to see that another is on the way.

More About the Author

Reading both The Hobbit and The Bourne Identity in kindergarten set R. K. MacPherson's mind permanently in the clouds. Spinning tales just came naturally after that. He wrote his first novel to impress a girl in college, which failed to win her heart, but kept his mind thinking about "What if..."

R. K. MacPherson draws upon a wide array of crazy adventures and careers in his writing, hoping to add as much authenticity as possible. He received his B.A. from Pacific Lutheran University and did graduate work in anthropology at Eastern New Mexico University. He has traveled and worked around the world, lived aboard a sailboat for two years, and is inordinately fond of spicy food. He currently lives in Japan where he's working on his next novel.
