I first heard one of Zircon's songs on Pandora.com and it really stood out to me from the mass of technolyzed songs. I listen to all types of techno such as Daft Punk, Crystal Method, Prodigy, and Hybrid to name a few. But, I really liked how Zircon took a lot of what I liked and combined it into a fresh sound. The sound quality is really fantastic and the songs are exciting and upbeat. And for $8.99 for instant download, its a pretty sweet buy. I will definitely check out more of what Zircon has to offer and you should as well!

A Pleasant Surprise,

The only real low point of the album is, ironically enough, the title track. It's not bad, but it's a bit of a let down and somewhat cliché compared to "Breathing You In", the other vocal track. Most of the compositions are instrumental. They vary greatly in mood, bat are all patently artificial in sound structure and often surprisingly complex. I found this group (person?) through my Pandora account and went on to purchase more of their albums. Antigravity is a great starting point- it's accessible to fans of different genres.

Like a few others here, I found this guy through Pandora and got the album after hearing randomly hearing 3 tracks from it. Most of the instruments are simple and synth-based but the way everything comes together is far more complex and it's hard to stop listening. I'm definitely be looking forward to more Zircon.

This music is urban-slick, driven, smooth, sophisticated, and has the most amazing vocals I've heard since ... remember Celine Dion's song about Titanic? The combination is like fire and ice: great album.

Like everyone else, I seem to have found this through Pandora (specifically the track, "Nitronic"). It has been, by far, the best recommendation I've gotten from there. The songs are mixed well, but I'd hesitate to say there's a consistent theme throughout the album. Still, each track stands on its own. They are all incredibly upbeat and fast paced -- definitely makes you want to get up and move. Juxtaposition features highly: the Morse code beeps breaking before a crunchy drum breakdown in "Warhead," for example. Jillian Goldin's voice is simply fantastic, though I felt it was used to better effect in "Breathing You In." The title track, "Antigravity," is almost anticlimax, but I feel that's only because almost nothing can upstage "Nitronic." Highly recommended. |
