Book Description

Third-generation funeral director Lizzie Morton is about to have her dream realized. She has purchased the long abandoned Nichols Funeral Home and its upstairs flat, determined to restore the funeral home to its once former glory. But a late night visitor, Adam Nichols, claims the funeral home still belongs to his family. Lizzie scoffs at his odd behavior and outlandish claims, but when a vintage photograph appears, she soon realizes, to her horror, that Adam Nichols did once own the funeral home—more than one hundred years ago—and now she has allowed this entity to pass into her home.

I was really disappointed with the length of this book. there was no ending. would have liked to know what happened to the funeral home, was it in the present or past? The book was not finished.

2.0 out of 5 stars 2.5 stars. VERY short! June 12, 2012
By Sarah
Format:Kindle Edition
(I was given a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis, as part of the `antique charming' blog tour.)
Lizzie is a funeral director and has recently purchased the Nichols Funeral Home and its upstairs flat. One night a man called Adam comes to her door, claiming that it is his home, and Lizzie lets him in, upon investigating though, Lizzie is unsure what is happening when she finds a photo of Adam taken in 1986.

That is pretty much the whole story, and the reader is left to decide for themselves exactly what is ultimately going on, which annoyed and frustrated me.
I'm not the biggest fan of short stories, and this one is really short, and can be read in around 10 minutes. This is really too short in my opinion, and it kind of feels like the first chapter of a longer story.

This book is well written and full of intruige though, and makes me want to check out the authors other work.
Recommended if you like a little romance and intrigue, and enjoy really short stories.
5 out of 10.

3.0 out of 5 stars That's All?
I was very much intrigued with story. It moves well. Just as the story gets interesting. It ends. I hate that. Or perhaps I just don't understand what's going on.

Very disappointed. This wasn't a book, it was two pages of something I could have wrote in high school. I'm very glad it was a library loan and not a purchase.
