A 'must have' for every doll maker and collector.,
By Willie Rayburn (Shreveport, Louisiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Antique Children's Fashions, 1880-1900: A Handbook for Doll Costumers (Paperback)
This is a must have book for every doll maker, costumer or collector.
It is invaluable in its content on how to identify fabrics, vintage sewing skills and basic costuming construction. Beginners and novices alike will keep returning to it as a never ending resource of costume information. The pictures of fashion plates from the old Delineator magazine are a feast for the eyes for the reproduction costumer and the color plates of dolls in copies of these outfits make them truly come alive for the reader. A valuable resource for anyone who loves victorian costume making or just wants an excellent how-to book on vintage sewing. I could have saved a lot money by buying this book long ago. So practical; so sensible. This is a must have reference for an antique doll collector.
