Antique Legacy is the fourth book in the Alicia Trent Mystery series and the best one yet. Following closely behind Antique Discovery, the story continues the surprise at the end of the last book regarding Ali's feelings and desire to be with the right man.

But, the bigger tale and the most interesting to me was the legacy that was plopped in Ali's lap. She ends up in England with a large mansion in disrepair, family members living in said mansion who do not want her there, and enough mysterious happenings that should cause readers to stay up late at night to see what happens next. Now that she has checked out her inheritance she must decide what to do with it - sell it, keep it, or give it to those who have lived there almost all their lives.

The author has provided a smooth transition from story to story throughout this series. Each book can be read on its own, but readers may want to start at the beginning to understand the big picture. Harris also has a smooth writing style that makes each book an easy read although there is plenty of action going on to keep things interesting. Antique Legacy is an intriguing story with solid characterization and a well-plotted, sinister mystery.

This was a fabulous third book in the Ali mysteries. I enjoy the small elements of magic, and cannot wait to learn more about the newest one, but love that it also maintains the element of reality. In this story Ali and Nick go on vacation, but as always mystery seems to follow Ali and a murder is committed. However this story is about more than mystery and murder, it is about friendship and family. The only thing I didn’t like was the complication in one of Ali’s relationships. I hope that doesn’t end up being a major plot twist because I like her current relationship.

I give this story 4.5 out of 5 clouds.

I absolutely love this series....

Alicia is on for another adventure. When she receives a legacy from her family, that she never knew existed, at first she is surprised. Then slowly as it sinks in, she is nervous and apprehensive. She has inherited a house in England and now that she is on her way to check out her inheritance, she also gets to meet her `family' for the first time. Nothing is as she expected. The house is in a patched up condition, the family is not so heart warming but there are lots of antique pieces for her to look up... There are also weird things happening all around that makes it very clear that Alicia is is unwelcome at her own house. But she has a responsibility to decide what to do of her inheritance.

Alone in a different country all together, will Alicia come out alive or is she way over her head?

This book, I have to say, is the one with the darkest storyline in the series. For one, Alicia was all alone - without Barry or Lawrence or Nick to help her out. The action that takes place in the story is also darker than the others. Without giving away any spoilers, all I can say that the series has developed to a point where things get much more complicated. The look into Alicia's heritage is fascinating though the same cannot be said about her present family members. None of them seem to be particularly likeable even though some of them do redeem themselves in the end. There's a bit of development in Alicia relationship status that was out of the blue too. And, I have to say that the climax was thebest - I didn't see it coming!

The author's narration style remains the same, making it easy to get into the story. I did miss the other characters though. After following the series from the beginning, I have come to like the other's in Alicia's life as much and do expect to see more of them each time. Overall, the book keeps up with the rest of the series - its got action and drama that keeps the pages turning!

I would recommend this book, this entire series actually, to anyone who loves a good mystery! Especially all you folks out there who figure out most plots half way through the book. Eileen Harris has a unique talent for throwing twists into her books that make figuring out the outcomes almost impossible. She is an extremely talented new writer who brings the fun back to the mystery genre. The Alicia Trent series is one of the best series I have ever read!
