About the Author

An amazing collection of one of the most important poets in Latin America.
Pablo Neruda and his love for Chile and the nature are presented there.

The eminent grise poet of Latin America and Spain. Neruda is the start and finish of any serious look at Spanish based literature and poetry. The Spanish version went to a young student in Mexico where they are not much on books but heavy on computers. Old school I felt every serious student needs to graduate with their own set of must have volumes on the book shelf. The comment was "That's a very long book!" Answer. It's not for a few days enjoyment it's for your lifetime. Don't speak Spanish? Get the English version. It's a different publication but accompishes the same task. Most of his poetry and an anthological biography of his life.

The commentaries are valuable but not really necessary. I really wanted an anthology of Neruda's work, just the poems, y'know-- and this volume seems to be just a selection. (I could be mistaken, as I haven't gone through the whole book)
