Music of Peace and Struggle and Liberation!,
By Granolaboy "Granolaboy" (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Antologia Musical (Audio CD)
Victor Jara, the legendary Chilean protest singer, eloquently sang out against imperialism and capitalism, and died because of his brave music. Listen to this CD and remember all the thousands who've disappeared during the fascist Pinochet dictatorship and all the other victims of military repression throughout Latin America. Listen and sing along. Sing out for peace, for justice, for human rights. Sing out for a better world.

Victor Jara's music lives!,
By
This review is from: Antologia Musical (Audio CD)
Victor Jara was the Pete Seeger and or Woody Guthrie of Chile and is still very well known all over the world. His lyrics are poignant, smart, touching and compassionate. His music still resonates for those who have faith in the human spirit and the goodness in people. Victor's death was very tragic - his hands and tongue were cut off under the dictatorship of Pinochet in Chile, early 1970's. However, Victor and his music still live in many hearts.
