About the Author

Ignasi de Solà-Morales (1934-2001) was one of the world's most influential critics and historians of architecture. He was a professor at the Barcelona School of Architecture for more than 20 years, and his architectural practice guided the reconstruction of Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion in 1986. Rafael Vargas is a freelance portrait, architecture, and advertising photographer whose work has appeared in numerous international architecture and interior-design magazines, including Abitare, Domus, and Diseño Interior. He is widely acknowledged as the leading photographer of Gaudí's work. Vargas lives in Barcelona.

I purchased this book after doing a lot of online research of books by Gaudi. It was a gift for my dearest friend in the world who is an artist. She will be traveling through Italy this summer and has made arrangements in her itinerary to visit many of Gaudis structures because his style has captivated her. She called me immediately upon receiving the gift and was absolutely stunned by all of the photos, information and presentation of Antoni Gaudi. While the book didn't arrive early, as I was hoping since I'd ordered a bit late. Because it was such a hit with her I don't think she minded receiving her birthday gift one day late.
