This is a great Concert from beginning to end. There are three fantastic pianist and Ron Carter proves he is still the man on the Acoustic bass. It is impossible to pick a bad Jobim tune, because he never learned how to write a tune that did not sound great. Buy this Dvd, BUT before you play it, get some popcorn, food drinks or whatever it is you like to eat or drink, then sit back and enjoy the show over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Farewell, Maestro, January 23, 2011
By
This review is from: Antonio Carlos Jobim & Friends: Tribute Concert (DVD)
[SPOILER] While Gal Costa sings "Se Todos Fossem Iguais a Voce", o Maestro appears on stage, with the music still going, embracing the musicians, and saying no words. The crowd stands up and applauds him. Herbie Hancock stands up too and leaves the piano to him, who starts playing and singing. At the end, while the musicians are still playing "Garota de Ipanema", o Maestro stands up, wordlessly greets the public and the musicians, and goes away. He came with the music, he went away with the music, no explanations needed. He would die the year after, leaving us such a great heritage. Thanks, Maestro, we will not forget you.
