5.0 out of 5 stars Gaudi-nature's authentic architect
After visiting Barcelona and being captivated by the work of an architect I had never heard of, I found this terrific book. The commentary is by a native scholar from Catalonia who writes with directness and clarity. Gaudi used nature's forms to inspire, and was uninterested in artistic intellectualization. Mostly photos here, but the text has depth. There's a...

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY TINY
I ordered this book because I loved the copy I got from my public library. BUT it was not clear in the "ad" that the words (Tiny Fellow) in the title meant that the book WAS REALLY TINY!! It is just 4 1/2" square! This means that the images, which are really beautiful in the full-sized version, are way too small to be meaningful or useful to me.
I will be returning...

There's a chronology of Gaudi's work and background on what little we know of his upbringing. It is more thorough than tourist-geared materials available in Barcelona, and priced better than encyclopedia-like scholarly volumes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for anybody interested in Gaudi and his works, October 20, 2000
By A Customer
As a student in architecture I spent some time looking for a good book on the works of Antonio Gaudi. I wasn't happy with any of the subject materials that were out there until I stumbled into this book. The clarity of the pictures are amazing and could make anyone feel as though they were right in front of La Sagrada Familia. This book also includes some of Gaudi's sketches, as well as a few floor plans, elevations, and sections of some of his well known buildings. If you are a fan of Antonio Gaudi then this book would defenitely be a good investment. Even if you're not a student in architecture this book will make you appreciate the creativity of Antonio Gaudi, and his use of symbolism (in La Sagrada Familia)

5.0 out of 5 stars Gaudi Triumphantes!, November 19, 2002
Essentially this is a picture book, but what pictures! The photography has used the extraordinary architecture and added a new dimension to it in vision and lighting. If you would know Gaudi, look at his work: and this is one of the best ways to do it if you cannot readily get to Catalunya. In addition, the production and design of the book, in a relatively small format, has been very carefully thought out, resulting in one of those rare volumes which is delightful to handle and admire in its own right, quite apart from its content. An absolute little gem.

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY TINY, April 22, 2008
This review is from: Antonio Gaudi: Master Architect (Tiny Folio) (Hardcover)
I ordered this book because I loved the copy I got from my public library. BUT it was not clear in the "ad" that the words (Tiny Fellow) in the title meant that the book WAS REALLY TINY!! It is just 4 1/2" square! This means that the images, which are really beautiful in the full-sized version, are way too small to be meaningful or useful to me.
I will be returning the book for a refund and ordering the full sized version, if it is available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive survey of an influential, innovative architect., July 3, 2000
Juan Bassegoda Nonell's Antonio Gaudi excels in fine photos by Melba Levick as it outlines the unique works of architect Gaudi. Color photos provide full coverage of his innovative buildings and inspirations.

Pictures are good, with well written history, but 4" by 4" book was so tiny.

1.0 out of 5 stars TINY BOOK, BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, November 19, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Antonio Gaudi: Master Architect (Tiny Folio) (Hardcover)
If you don't know, "Tiny Folio" or "Tiny Fellows" really does mean TINY. The description says that it's a hardback book and in a review it is described as being an unusual size and shape. After receiving the book, I went back to the description to see if I overlooked the fact that it is a teensy weensy book. I can't find the 4.5 X 4.75 INCH dimensions anywhere in the description. I ordered it as a gift for someone else, but I will see if I can exchange it for an Antonio Gaudi book that's not quite so tiny.

I was looking for a book about Gaudi to introduce his architecture/art to my daughter. The reviews were positiv, but this book is better as a travel guide because it is very small and only shows portions of the art. But, if you plan on travelling to Barcelona, this book will serve you well.

We bought this for a gift. The recipient loved it. It's not a large book, but we knew that when we purchased it. A nice book for the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars MINIATURE BOOK ! ! NOT FULL SIZE, September 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Antonio Gaudi: Master Architect (Tiny Folio) (Hardcover)
BUYER BEWARE. "Tiny Folio" is too easily missed.
Imagine ordering a full size book; and receiving something four inches square.
Apparently, I am not the only one who fell for this glitch.
Returned immediately.
