Literally, the Bible of classical guitars,
By Aggie '96 (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Antonio De Torres: Guitar Maker-His Life and Work (Yehudi Menuhin music guides) (Paperback)
I just received the book and have spent a few hours reading. The photograph/halftone quality of this particular printing (softcover) is horrible. There is hardly any discernible details in them. The book covers in great detail the life and professional history of Torres and future generations of his students. Not being familiar with the history of these individuals, some parts literally read like the book of Genesis: so-and-so begat so-and-so...and just as dull. However, there are tons of useful information regarding variations in the basic Torres design and specifically measurements and descriptions of many of his surviving instruments. I'm not disappointed.

Great history of the inventor of the modern classic guitar. Colored pictures would have added greatly to the detailed discriptions.
