Editorial Reviews

Review

"Richard Lederer is the illegitimate offspring of H. L. Mencken and Dave Barry. More Anguished English made me laugh so hard I cried on my pants." -- Lewis Frumkes, author, Metapunctuation, on More Anguished English"

Product Description

When Bob Dylan crooned, "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind," it turned out a lot of people thought he had declared an odd but worthy allegiance to tiny creatures in trouble: "The ants are my friends, blowin' in the wind!" Word lovers, pun lovers, music lovers, slaphappy kids, and everyone with a sense of humor will groan mightily at this collection of just such misunderstood, borrowed, fractured, and pun-filled versions of song lyrics, compiled by two talented humorists, both former International Punsters of the Year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Musical Fun, February 25, 2008
By Sally Rosoff (Laguna Woods, CA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a delightfully funny and clever book from punster Stan Kegel
and word maven Richard Lederer. Using lyrics from Broadway shows and
popular songs they've written jokes, puns and groaners, some original
and others free floating oldies, and created musical punchlines by
altering letters or words. This book is a double delight, bringing to
readers both the joke and the song that that has inspired its
punchline -- you'll be singing (and groaning) as you read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Punny, February 17, 2009
This book was bought for a gift. You have to love puns to enjoy this book, which made it the perfect gift for a particular friend.

1.0 out of 5 stars A pun too far, July 24, 2008
By Yokohamamama (Yokohama, Japan) - See all my reviews
I love Richard Lederer's books, but this is a real groaner. I would recommend it only to diehard punsters, and even then, with serious reservations

I love a good pun, but this book doesn't supply the goods for me.
