This review is from: Ants Can Count (Audio CD)
the music on this CD is a bit slow-paced, but there is no doubt that Bruce Fowler has great chops and if you've ever been lucky enough to see him perform live, you will appreciate the music. There aren't too many contemporary trombone players who have their own sound but Bruce stands out. The last Mothers of Invention band had two of the Fowler Brothers (Bruce and Tom but not Walt) were great and I can still remember their concerts all these years later (1976?). Throw in George Duke, Ruth Underwood, Chester Thompson, and Frank Zappa, and that's quite a bit of talent up there on stage.
