The music pleases parents as well as kids.,

The music on this album is a wonderful tribute to the imagination and creativity of kids. We all know that kids look at the world differently than we do and Joe Scruggs puts their point of view to music. "Rapunzel Got A Mohawk" is a wonderfully wacky song that puts a new spin on old fairy tales. The song "Not Fair" shows that Joe really understands where kids are coming from as the theme of this song is if I'm not getting my way then it's just not fair (that's a familiar phrase around my house). Joe also appeals to a childs wacky and irreverent sense of humor with the song "Big Underwear"....he makes dancing in big underwear sound so much fun I'd like to by my own pair. This album is a must for children in the early elementary grades. Parents will enjoy it too.

Beautiful and touching. Clever as usual for Joe Scruggs.,

Joe Scruggs is one of the best, if not the best children's entertainers to come along in a long time. My autistic son listens to music most of the day and Joe Scruggs is one of his favorites. Joe is my favorite, seeing that I must listen to the same music my son listens to all day long. My son and I also feel the same way about Joe's two videos. I especially like the song "Different Drum" on the "Ants" album. It has special meaning for me because it sort of describes how I feel about my autistic son's behavior--that he is following a different drum from all the other children. I think it should be a kind of "theme" song for special or retarded or just different children. "Can't Rock the Baby" is also a very special song for parents. In fact, many of Joe Scruggs songs are really for the parents rather than their children. After all, we usually must listen to the same things our children listen to when they are very young. I give "Ants" two thumbs up!

I second all of the comments of the first reviewer. I'm so impressed by the quality of the songs and how my kids respond so positively to them that I decided to buy more Joe Scruggs CDs. They are well worth it!

I first heard of Joe Scruggs because one of his songs was on a cassette we received as a gift for my son's 2nd' birthday. We loved it instantly, and I was delighted to come across one of his tapes (Ants) at a garage sale for a dime. It was an instant favorite in our house, and we've been collecting the rest of his music since then. My 2 older kids are big fans (they are 2 and 4) and I find myself singing along as well. The lyrics are funny enough to put adults into stitches, and catchy tunes get the kids singing along as well. I even get teary-eyed when I listen to Can't Rock the Baby. I highly recommend this music, as well as anything else from Joe Scruggs that you can get your hands on.

Not as good as some of his other CD's. We really like Deep in the Jungle as a family.

My daughter and niece grew up listening to music by Joe Scruggs. The songs are for everyone and the lyrics strike a cord in parents as well as children. I purchased this CD for my grand nephew who just turned 1. "Aunt Lucy" from Deep in the Jungle is his favorite song.
