3.0 out of 5 stars poor and suspiciously selective scholarship, August 5, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Ants of New Mexico: (Hymenoptera : Formicide) (Hardcover)
Perhaps the most conspicuous ants in all of New Mexico are the harvester ants that build large mounds and clearings. Some of the potentially most important are the fire ants. One book was published on the former in 1998, another on the latter in 2000. Neither work was mentioned or cited in this monograph though the authors were well aware of both. As if hoping to add two more titles to a papal Index Librorum Prohibitorum, they slighted an author who they perceive as a competitor. There is no other explanation for denying readers a chance to refer to those other references.
