Very good job.

I have read books where a lot of bad things happen to the main characters and the bad guy gets away with bad things.

Although I did finish the book, I thought it was overlong at more than 800 pages.

The sci-fi portion of this book is very good and makes for an interesting read.

The love story I found got more ridiculous as the pages went on. The need to express their love for one another every couple of pages does not add to the book. This was just so repetitive it became very annoying. It gets worse the further into the novel you get. I found myself just flipping the pages to find a way back to the storyline.

The ending was a major disappointment. I found the ending rushed, inconclusive and half-baked. Hard to believe after 800+ pages.

Anu-Bis is a Sci-Fi story with something for everyone. From the space faring, high technology, action, intrigue and even includes mention of "The Greys" and the genres infatuation with anal probing, through to a touch of romance and a whole host of lovable characters that you cannot help becoming attached to. This book took me on an emotional roller-coaster with many laughs, a few tears.

The author has built a wonderful culture and lore with the Isisian people and their wonderful Oarcana and Vortakai. There is enough technology and science to make all fans of the genre happy. Whilst not so much that the story is lost to just long descriptions of technology.

I hope we get to meet with the Isisians again soon, as there is great potential for more tales from this world.

I would have to put this book up there with other Sci-Fi books the likes of Clarke's Rama series, Bear's Thistledown, Scott Cards Ender Saga and for the culture and character development, alongside Feist's Midkemia books.

I loved this book, it was very smartly written. I have to agree with some of the other comments, the Love Story even though cool, got too ridiculous at times, it was too much; its not like the kind of love (childish by the way)would transform the lives of the Isisians, their very own love stories where better and more significant, but in any case, I loved the book and recommend it to everybody.

I would love to see it in a movie.

Thanks a lot Bolseen (if you are still around Earth to read this comment :)

What a wonderful first contact book, and one that departs from the usual ideas. The political chaos that develops after knowledge of Anu-bis's arrival was all to real. The description of the advanced technologies were nicely balanced by the story line and left me wanting more detailed technical information. The idea of "back-up" copies and personal protection against attack, both from within and without, were thought provoking. My only regret is that there is no second book to read, and I am left wanting more of the ANU-BIS and Isisian adventures story.

This is how first contact should be. This author did a great job telling his story. I found it interesting and did feel like I was overwhelmed by the author trying to explain things so much that I wished it would end.

This story was incredible! Well-written, the world(s) very fleshed out and wonderful, characters that were easy to relate to and care about, all the humans & aliens were described very well - all in all, a fantastic, solidly written story. I especially loved the sci-fi opera style of narration. That made it very easy to follow the setting changes and keep track of who was where.
BUT...
There were A LOT of commas. Seriously. That many commas are simply not necessary. Some of the dialog between characters was stilted and really hard to believe. No one, and I mean no one, says their 'sweetie's' name (or calls them sweetie, honey, baby, whatever) that many times! I was about sick to death of David & Tulip's love story by 3/4 of the way through the story. I really wanted them to just shut up already. These two things are what kept this from being my new favorite book. I just couldn't get past all those commas.
The story was absolutely fabulous though; that made this book well worth the money.

Great take on the non-typical "First Contact" from aliens. Totally unexpected twists and turns make it worth the read. Highly recommend!
