5.0 out of 5 stars The Funk Badit is Back!!!!!
Da Brat made an excellent effort on her sophomore record ANUTHATANTRUM. the fast raps, guest artist and the banging beats make dis one of da phatest cd'z of the year and probably should have gone platinum. the first one did but this one only recieved gold status, which is well deserved. if you ask somebody who da brat is now a days though they may not or may know her...

3.0 out of 5 stars There should have never been TWO Tantrum albums
The ONLY thing missing from this CD is two songs. These two songs are "B side (squeaky clean)" & "Sitton on top of the world, pt.2" and they both come from "AnuthaFUNKDAFIEDtantrum" album. I still have no idea why they decided to make TWO tantrum CD's. There was absolutely no point whatsoever, considering the fact that half the songs come from THIS cd anyway...

Da Brat made an excellent effort on her sophomore record ANUTHATANTRUM. the fast raps, guest artist and the banging beats make dis one of da phatest cd'z of the year and probably should have gone platinum. the first one did but this one only recieved gold status, which is well deserved. if you ask somebody who da brat is now a days though they may not or may know her. my favorite tracks are "my belifes", "lets all get high" (featuring Krayzie Bone), "ghetto love" (featuring Tionne Watkins of TLC), "sittin on top of the world", "just a little bit" and "lyrical molestation" (featuring The Notorious B.I.G). She mixes well with the production done by Jermaine Dupri and Carl-So-Lowe for her record lable So So Def Records. The release is credited twards a 96 release but many people still sing the songs and play it in 99 and i am one of them. this cd is not a good effort because i'm a big fan it is a good effort because everypiece of this record will make someone happy. pick this up if your having any doubts and also pick up her new one coming out in either august or sepetember

5.0 out of 5 stars ANUTHAHOTALBUM!!!!, April 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Anutha Tantrum (Audio CD)
THIS CD IS SO HOT!!! SHE CAME OFF REALLY STRONG FIRST WITH FUNKDAFIED WHICH FEATURED THE HUGE HIT "F' ALL YALL" AND SHE BECAME THE ONLY UNDERGROUND FEMALE RAPPER AND CURRENTLY IS EXTREMELY POPULAR. SHE CAME OFF RAW ON ANUTHATANTRUM THOUGH INCLUDING HIST SUCH AS THE HOMEGIRL ANTHEM OF EARLY 97 "SITTIN' ON TOP OF THE WORLD" (FEATURING TREY LORENZ) AND HER ALBUM ROSE UP THE CHARTS AND MADE HER THE NUMBER ONE SELLING FEMALE RAPPER. AS IF SHE COULDN'T PICK UP A BETTER SINGLE SHE THEN RELEASED "GHETTO LOVE" (FEATURING T-BOZ OF TLC). T-BOZ BECAME A HUGE SOLO HIT SUCCESS BY DROPPING "TOUCH MYSELF" OFF THE FLED SOUNDTRACK AND THEN THE FOLLOW UP "TOUCH MYSELF" (REMIX FEATURING RICHIE RICH). DA BRAT HAS GONE ON TO DO HITS WITH JD, XSCAPE, MARIAH CAREY AND MORE. GET THIS CD

4.0 out of 5 stars Anuthafunkyalbum, July 6, 2007
This review is from: Anutha Tantrum (Audio CD)
Who can forget Anuthatantrum by Da Brat? Only those hardhead nostalgics that think that every artist album makes one good album(being their first) and that's it. Brat was at her most lyrically potent when she was still that crazy tomboy who ripped rhymes just as hard as her male counterparts. Case in point with this album. Anuthatantrum is the intro that kicks off the album as Brat goes hard over a dope beat. My Beliefs is pretty much Brat explaining that she is going to do what she does regardless of what people think. Her first single Sittin' On Top Of The World was a notable cut and so is her second single with T-Boz, Ghetto Love where she talks about her man getting locked up because somebody squealed. Krayzie Bone joins in Let's All Get High as they both kick it over a laidback beat. She jacks Akinyele's beat for Put It In Your Mouth on Live It Up and she shut it down. Lyrical Molestation which features George Clinton is another hip hop gem which Da Brat rips in half plus George Clinton put it down with his witty poetry. The only track I couldnt feel is Keepin It Live which features Jermaine Dupri and the West Side Interlude was pointless after that the rest of this album is smooth sailing. Bottom Line: Anuthatantrum is another great album from Da Brat that should never be forgotten. She was still spittin' and was still at her rawest before she went for the sex appeal gimmick and killed her whole career and fanbase with a horrible 4th album. Standout Tracks: MY BELIEFS, SITTIN ON TOP OF THE WORLD, LET'S ALL GET HIGH, JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE, LYRICAL MOLESTATION, LIVE IT UP and MAKE IT HAPPEN.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brat-tat-tat-Her matured second album, July 31, 2011
This review is from: Anutha Tantrum (Audio CD)
I remember this album when I was in the 4th grade. This was a tight record. JD really produced this album. She was badder than ever with a more grown-up image on this album. She had emerge as a self-assured young woman. She flexed her muscles as the super-skilled writer of every track on this record. She declared herself as a hip-hop force to be reckoned with. This album was named after legendary episode of throwing tantrums. This album is filled with tracks not only reflected her maturing musical style but also her demanding life. Success, fame, and dealing with pressure undercut every track on the album. She gave Dupri props for delivering the smooth honey-tracks which back up her mack-mommie chat. This album has been certified Gold. Remember, this was 1996-1997.

This cd from the brat is real good. As far as her rapping skills I don't think too many females can compare except for lil kim , lauryn hill, or Mc Lyte. She keeps it tight with her lyrics and does good with jermaine dupri backing her up. Just wait til you hear and see her this sumer. Da brat is going to control everything. She is looking phyne and I heard the first jam of the album and it's banging. Get this or wait for the new one!!!!!

By A Customer
This review is from: Anutha Tantrum (Audio CD)
This cd was cool, but i liked her first album better. I hope she comes back wit another album. Her new look is so cool. Shes starting to be more feminen. But i like her in the braids more better than the pig tails. Well she is my favorite rapper and im her biggest fan. I hope we can meet one day. It will be the best day of my life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brat does it again!, October 18, 2004

Her second album is very nice. She continues to deliver phat rhymes on this album. This CD is not as good as the first, but it still is a classic and a must have.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you liked Unrestricted...., August 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Anutha Tantrum (Audio CD)
You'll love this album. While the lyrics on Unrestricted were undoubtedly Da Brat's rawest to date, I think the beats on the Anuthatantrum tracks are catchier. Unfortunately, Da Brat seems to have lost her edge with her latest effort Luv & Limelight, as one reviewer aptly pointed out, it's all about f**king other girl's boyfriends. Boring. Unrestricted was Brat at her hottest. Anuthatantrum was wasn't as mainstream, but maybe that's part of the reason I like it better, because it has "new" songs that I haven't heard over and over again.
