Editorial Reviews

Review

"A remarkable and unique contribution to the scientific analysis, diagnosis, and treatment of the anxiety disorders. He assesses the strengths and weaknesses of diverse approaches that range from phenomenological to biochemical and he successfully integrates the reliable findings from these sources. Far more than any other work on the topic, this one integrates the theory and rapidly growing body of basic research on emotions. This helps make the book a solid scientific treatise and a state-of-art work for understanding, treating, and preventing anxiety disorders. This volume is likely to become a landmark for clinical researchers and practitioners."
--Carroll Izard, Ph.D.. University of Delaware

1.0 out of 5 stars nothing concrete, January 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was forced to buy and read this book as a course requirement. I feel that my time and money could have been spent in a far more productive way. The majority of this book revolves around the author's speculations; speculations about past research, speculations about other peoples speculations, speculations about the authors own speculations from the first edition, and so on. There wasn't enough concrete knowledge included in this book to hold my attention
