Editorial Reviews

Inspired by the life of Bat Masterson. After a violent war has broken out between the cowboys and Native Americans, Bat finds himself lying on the ground, badly wounded after a heroic showdown. Shot and on the brink of death, he is visited by Mobius. As Mobius consoles him, they revisit Bat's choices and how they have defined his life. He'll be left to make his toughest one yet, whether to live and fight or die.

The story line is timeless. You are the sum of your decisions, but you can always decide to change for the better.

There is nothing like combining a western with existentialism. Bat Masterson (Tom Lagleder) is left for dead when he has an out of body experience. He is visited by Mobius (Paul Tinder) a horrific actor who plays all three roles of the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future. Together they examine Masterson's life, which I didn't know was filled with such bad dialouge.

Mobius, as God's messenger, fills Bat with religious philosophy...Life is God's greatest gift. We can be anything we want. We are what choices we make. We shouldn't blame others for our misfortune. We must be responsible for ourselves. (Vote Republican, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.)

There were apparently some issues involving the expense of arrows. During an attack by non-Native American looking Indians, a cabin is shot at with arrows. We see 2 arrows actually hit the cabin, or it could be one arrow from two different views. The film constantly uses that scene over and over again, with the ricochet sound of bullets in the background. It was laughably sad in an Ed Wood kind of way. It is tough to sit through.

This is a faith based film with a western background.

Parental Guide: No adult language, sex, or nudity.
