simply the best!!,

Anyone who sits and watches "Friends" everynight and can't help but to sing along to the theme song - or any Rembrants fans - take note because Danny Wilde, one half of the Rembrants, is God!!!!! His solo stuff just couldn't be better. Danny wilde should be as big as Bryan Adams, because in my opinion he is so much better!! I first heard Danny's solo efforts on the soundtrack to the movie "Dream A Little Dream" and loved it so much, I began the sleuth work of tracking down his albums. His first (The Boyfriend) was great and his self titled album was fantastic. Any Man's Hunger was his second, and best. My favorite song of all time is "Time Runs Wild". Very rarely can I listen to one song over and over, day by day -I do it with "Time Runs Wild". The other songs are great too - especially "Ain't I Good Enough?" "Wouldn't Be The First Time" and "Bitter Moon" A classic album that should be on any serious record collector's shelf! Power rock, jangly guitars and perfect harmonies - no other way to describe Danny Wilde but - simply the best!

Long time fan,

I've been a fan of Danny Wilde since picking up an album (remember those?) in the early 80's from the band "Great Buildings". Since that time, I have bought and enjoyed his music. Any Man's Hunger is one of my favorite cd's, one that I pull out from time to time. If you have a chance to pick up any of his other solo stuff, I would recommend them highly. I know of at least 2 other releases, although they are not listed on amazon.com.

One listen to this CD and you'll realise that there is no justice in the world. If there was danny wilde would be a megastar. this disc has all you could ask for, excellent songs well crafted and sung and melodies to die for. Don't just take my word for it buy it. Also Island records re-release the boyfriend now!

The absolute best pop/rock!,

** Danny Wilde's 2nd solo release and maybe his best.** Almost wore-out my CD player with this one! ** Pure power-pop, thousands of guitars and harmonies. ** I compare this album with the best of Marshall Crenshaw, Dan Fogelberg, Neil Finn and Bill Lloyd. ** Rembrandt's fan? You must hear this!!

Danny Wilde is such a great songwriter and has the perfect voice to sing them. This is a fantastic sounding record with such rich guitar tones and a solid rhythm section. Time Runs Wild is a tune you can listen to over and over and Bitter Moon is passionate.

Rarely does it happen that an album or cd changes your life, but this one came at a very transitional time in my life. After being turned onto Danny's 1st solo effort (The Boyfriend) by a high school classmate (thanks Jeff M. if your out there),and totally digging it. I couldn't wait for his next gem. He didn't disappoint. As much as I could relate to the songs on (The Boyfriend), the tracks on (Any Man's Hunger) spoke even more to my heart and soul. Danny is one of the best singer-song writers I have ever come across. David Geffen of Geffen records once said of Danny that he was the next Bruce Springsteen. I agree, but unfortunately the masses haven't figured it out. Lucky for us Danny has put down on c.d. and vinyl some of his legacy. Buy it and enjoy it as I do-you won't be disappointed.

As a song writer this album makes you think of giving up and becoming a van driver(no disrespect). If you've only heard Danny Wilde in the Rembrandts then you're missing out on listening to his true potential, give this album a listen and you will realise what good music is all about, Hook lines with an edge and melodies to die for. If you do one thing in your life then but this album, you won't be dissappointed.

It's nothing like what he had done with the Rembrandts. It's differeent but in a good way. It's not a must get but if you like Blues/Rock it would be good for your collection.

for those who dont know Danny Wilde is the counter part of Phil Solem the people behind the Rembrandts. before the Rembrandts got it together Danny had a contract with Geffen and released 3 albums with the label, this being the 2nd. 'The Boyfriend' was the first and in my opinion the best, then this, then danny's selftitled, which was ok and featured peter frampton on some tracksAny mans hunger is a classic, albeit an underground one, this is possibaly on of THE best guitar albums of the 80's laden with many a pop gem ie Time Runs Wild, Ain't I Good Enough, Set Me Free, Any Man's Hunger and Contradiction. if your familar with the Rembrandts then this is a 80's style version still with the jangly guitars killer hooks and strong harmonies, but this album has that 'live' drum sound familar in the 80's. It also has its slow burners aswell in the shape of Wouldn't Be the Firsttime, Every Goodbye and Too Many Years Gone By. As stated already this album is great so if u like the Rembrandts then its highly reccomed you get this |
