This book may be out of print, but it's well worth searching for it. Karla Kuskin won the National Council of Teachers of English Award for Excellence in Poetry for Children Award in 1977, and Any Me I Want to Be is an excellenct example of her work. These poems stimulate children's imagination by getting them to guess what the poems are about. Some poems are easy and children will guess right away, but others will take a little longer. Colorful pictures help readers guess the answer. This book is perfect for reading aloud and will inspire children to try writing their own guessing peotry.
