A light holiday read,
This review is from: Any Way You Want Me (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Former computer hacker Yasmine Talbot works as a computer programer and tries to live on the straight and narrow to keep from ever becoming the bad girl she used to be. Alex DiCarlo investigated Yasmine, and he wants to be certain she's not involved. So, he goes undercover as a fellow computer programmer in the office.
This book makes a light, entertaining holiday read. While the bad guy is a bit transparent and a few of the plot twists are obvious, Yasmine's desire to be an all-American good girl makes her an endearing character, and Alex manages to be sympathetic even as he's deceiving the heroine. The side romance of Yasmine's friend Cassie and her coworker Drew seemed to take a bit too much of the plot, but it does provide an interesting parallell to the main story. This is a good, diverting read for after the holidays when the family is gone, or simply for a snowed in afternoon. Why don't you give it a try?

Having fun being naughty instead of nice over the holidays....,

She's learned the hard way that following her impulses lands her in trouble. But being a by-the-book girl has never been so hard for Yasmine Talbot since the hot new guy started at work. Meeting deadlines is impossible with that delicious bod around. It's time to corner him under the mistletoe with a naughty suggestion or two!
Alex DiCarlo is so hot for Yasmine, he's almost forgotten that he's undercover investigating her. He tells himself that spending the holidays with her is perfect for some intimate observation. Truth is, he's so enjoying this sinfully sexy weekend, he wants it to continue. Too bad flings weren't meant to last....

As much as I loved Alex, I didn't really love Yasmine. But I disliked her stupid friend even more. The secondary romance of Cassie and Drew was cute, until Cassie started getting really bitchy and dumb. She refused to be in a relationship with him, she just wanted sex, and even after she apologized for misleading him, she still said she wasn't going to be exclusive with him, just keep having sex. Which is pretty selfish and unfeeling first of all, since Drew was the sweetest character in the whole book. Also, she was a bad influence on Yasmine.
This is the last Jamie Sobrato book I'm reading, because in my opinion, this twit can't write. She's inaccurate, can't spell, and doesn't write romance. The pick-up line she gave Yasmine was "I want to have hot, nasty sex with you." That's not even hot or sexy. That's just lusty, in a bad way. |
