Hey Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose

When you think of Terry Stafford, you think of "Suspicion." When you think of "Amarillo By Morning" you think of George Strait. But in 1973, years before George even thought of recording that song, Terry wrote and recorded it. The A side was originally "Gypsy Rose," which never went anywhere until the DJs flipped it over and started playing Amarillo. I was so glad to see that this album finally come to CD; I can now retire my scratchy "Amarillo" 45.

Terry's biggest hits were, of course, "Suspicion" and "I'll Touch a Star" in 1964. After the rock glow faded, he did quite well as a songwriter and country singer. This album even contains a country version of "Suspicion" that is really quite pleasant. In fact, the whole album is very enjoyable, but the standouts are Amarillo and Suspicion.

I wondered if this album would ever come out on CD.

Thrilled to see that it finally has. Terry's version

of Amarillo By Morning will always shine as a country

classic, and in my opinion, it is far better than

Strait's later cover of it.

I used to call the local radio station, so often, to request Amirillo By Morning, they got to where they recognized my voice! I had this album forever, and LOVE it, LOVE every song on it. I'm so delighted that its finally on CD. Terry was a superstar that never got good enough coverage. I loved him.

The CD is what I wanted it to be. I did not know it was available. It arrived ahead of specified time in great condition.

This CD was very hard to get. I am so glad that a reproduction was done. Thanks for making it available through amazon.com
