Product Description

The AnyCom HCC-500 Car-Kit has been developed for consumers searching for an easy to install bluetooth "hands free" solution that offers the same if not better audio quality and feature packaged than pre-installed systems. The audio system of the AnyCom HCC-500 is equipped with a powerful 2 watt speaker and the state of the art technology that provides the best in communication quality. At the center of the audio system is a 16 bit Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that provides echo cancellation and noise suppression. The HCC-500 has two directional microphones one toward the driver and the second toward the passenger. The second microphone filters the surrounding and disruptive sounds so that the phone conversation the driver is conducting is clear and concise. This makes a real difference in the audio quality as the DSP subtracts the input of the second microphone from the transmitted signal so that only your voice is heard at the other party with no disruptive sound. Finally the 2 Watt speaker delivers more volume than most other solutions and allows you to listen to the caller even at higher speeds. The caller ID with latest OLED display will show you the number of the caller as well as the status of the car kit and your cell phone. In addition the Text-to-Speech (TTS) feature will announce the caller ID to you. Up to 8 different phones can be paired to the AnyCom HCC-500 and two phones can be connected at the same time but only with one cell phone using the car kit at a time. The AnyCom HCC-500 is compatible with the latest Bluetooth 2.1 (+EDR) specification, provides up to 12 hours of talk time and up to 250 hours standby. It is installed within seconds to the sun visor and the OLED dispaly can be adjusted when you turn the visor. Its sleek and elegant design fits even to the interior of the most prestigious cars.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works Great!, July 16, 2009

I never could stand the bluetooth headgear you plugged in your ear...looking like a leftover from a Star Trek Convetion. Now with this nice gadget, you simply sync it with your bluetooth enabled cell phone and go. It clips to your visor, you simply reach up and push a big button and you anwer the call. The speaking caller ID function works well too. I ran several tests with various levels of car background noise (fan, ac, radio, etc) and it is barely detectable on the other end. Your outgoing calls are loud and clear, with no need for shouting. To the passerby it will look like your talking to yourself...no ear buds, plugs, or wires!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Unit... but..., October 9, 2009
This review is from: Anycom HCC-500 Bluetooth Car-Kit (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Voice quality is GREAT!!! Pairing was easy with both phones that we needed to connect. (Blackberry and LG) Overall I really like the unit, but I have had a couple of problems:

1) I use navigation on my phone (Verizon Navigator) and the HCC-500 volume can't adjust while navigating... only when talking.

2) The package I bought ONLY came with the car charger... no ac plug charger. This is sometimes a pain, as the cord stretches
from my lighter to the visor where the unit hangs. People have said that my voice quality diminishes a bit if I just put the
unit in the seat next to me while charging (in order to avoid the cord problem).

3) My charger has broken after only three months of owning it (which is how I wound up on Amazon looking for the device). I'm
trying to find a new charger now. To my knowledge, there was no misuse of the charger... it just stopped working.

***UPDATE***
My husband took the charger apart and discovered that it has a fuse in it which can be easily replaced by unscrewing the tip of the charger. (Discovered the ease of unscrewing the tip after dismantling the unit.) Replaced the fuse and it works like a charm.
