Is it just me or is the music and effects soundtrack on this DVD very loud compared to the audio for the dialog? I double-checked it against the (ancient) VHS version of Raiders that I still own and the dialog in the DVD is nearly unintelligible in many spots whereas it was crystal clear on the tape in the same scenes. I even fiddled around with the EQ on my home theater receiver trying to boost the dialog to no avail. Arggh, I was really looking forward to enjoying this movie on DVD, too.

Matt Levine says:
I thought I was crazy while watching it. The audio seemed to be very loud during non-dialogue scenes, then quiet when there was dialogue, almost to the point of not being able to make out what was being said. I think it is very noticeable when Indy is running from the natives to the sea plane (loud) and when he is yelling about the snake in the cockpit (quiet). Glad to know I'm not the only one who fiddled with the audio options throughout the movie.
