Bruce Cockburn, without a doubt one of the most tallented and under appreciated songwriters out there. Nobody has the same guitar style as Bruce. This CD showcases some of Bruce's best work to date. My favorite song is "if a tree falls", Bruce lays down a great guitar track along with moving lyrics. My other favorites are "tokyo", "lovers in a dangerous time", "if I had a rocket launcher", "waiting for a miracle", "a dream like mine", and one of Bruce's recent songs, "last night of the world", which once again showcases Bruce's work on the acoustic guitar.

...but they do give an excellent overview of Cockburn's style and some of them are gems in their own right, from the Bono-quoted "Lovers In A Dangerous Time", through the eco-warrior "If A Tree Falls", the IMF baiting "Call It Democracy" and the singalonga classic "If I Had A Rocket Launcher", Cockburn's political and spiritual concerns are always clearly stated, the songs strong and memorable, and the musicianship second to none.
