An excellent value!,

This review is from: Anything Book, Classic Exec Series: Black (Hardcover)
I have been keeping a diary for years now. Over that time I have used several types of blank books, and I have been using this one for a long time. This one is sturdy and attractive, very well made, it should last the ages, and at a reasonable cost, there is no need to spend $10 or more on a journal. Other colors besides black are available. I usually buy one of these in conjunction with a book order to save on shipping costs.

Nice book for women or man,

This book has a nice cover that works for men or women. In today's electronic society, it's nice to actually write on something that's not going to need upgrading in two years. Then in 100 years when your grandchildren want to learn about your life they need only open a book, not look for the computer program that you wrote it on way back when. I buy one almost every time I place an order at Amazon.com, at $5.99 per book why not?

I've filled dozens and dozens of journals over the years. In fact, this will be my 77th. This Anything Book has a handsome, leatherette cover with a gilt border. It has a good feel about it and seems durable. The pages are lined- 24 lines per page with a 3/4" margin in top for titles and numbers. The end papers are heavy but plain. My only problem with it is that it is so thin. I know it says it has 160 pages, but even that isn't really adequate. For the serious journal keeper, you no more than get started and you are ready for another. For years the standard was around 190 pages- and I can remember when the average journal was well over 200 pages. Is this being done simply to sell more journals? Or is it possible that most people find it difficult to fill even a thin journal with original ideas and notable occurances and observations these days? In any case, it seems a waste to put so few pages between so fine of covers.

Great for a Journal,

I worried about the size when I ordered it, when it arrived I was so glad it is small enough to fit in a backpack or purse. These blank books are great for anyone who wants to begin writing and keeping their notes in one place.

A great journal,
This review is from: Anything Book, Classic Exec Series: Black (Hardcover)
This book makes a fantastic book for journaling. I spent a semester abroad with it and found it to be very durable. The pages are a nice quality as well. I feel confident that this book can stand the test of time.

If you are looking for a light weight, simple, black journal - well, this is the one for you. It lacks personality and the binding doesn't seem very sturdy. This is the kind of journal you can find on a clearance rack for a dollar.

A Great Little, Black Book,

A good size that fits easily in my bag, so that I can whip it out on the tube and scribble the journey away.

Good buy...,

It was just what I was looking for. I wanted a small journal not much better than a paper back, with quality pages and very lightly shown lines. It's not the best for staying open. When I started it, it was more comfortable to clip the pages to the front cover. Now that I've used it a bit it doesn't bother me. Though it got a great price and the nicest one I could find that wasn't leather.

The book says it all.,

It's a blank book with a bunch of lines on each page so you can write with. My only real complaint is that I wish the pages were already numbered. I also wish there were more pages, for I plan on keeping a spiritual journal, and if I do this on a daily basis, then I will probably fill this book up rather quickly. Probably every 1-3 months I will fill this thing up (depending on how much I write.) Should be great though.

Good but picture a bit misleading...,
This review is from: Anything Book, Classic Exec Series: Black (Hardcover)
Very sturdy and well made book. My only concern is that the picture is a bit misleading. The golden border is much brigther in person then the picture. Not to much of a problem but I simply wanted a plain black lined book and though this is close (I knew there was a golden border) it turned out being much more 'flashy' then I needed.
