Excellent EP Debut,

I must say that I was very impressed with this debut EP from Rikets. Being a fan of a wide variety of music I was very happy with what this band had to offer. Anyone who follows this group knows that some of the band members are from Erase the Grey.
Erase the Grey released an excellent EP back in 2002, but differences in the band forced the group to break up in early 2003. Scott Rose(ex lead vocalist of Erase the Grey) and a few other members formed Rikets, while the other half formed Shenoah. Shenoah's release is excellent as well, but I don't think it's as good as the Rikets EP release. Rikets uses some good guitar work from Switched guitarist Bradley Kochmit to add a solid sound to the music. The sampling and keyboarding in the music is well done and goes well together with the music. Most sampling and keyboarding in alot of industial heavy music sucks these days, so this is a plus for them. Lead Vocalist Scott Rose has a powerful voice and he blends his melodic vocals well with his screams, and he doesn't try to wear out his screaming like alot of vocalist's do. The druming and bass are very well done on this EP, but don't offer anything groundbreaking or stand out like the rest of the sound, but that doesn't take away from the music this band produces. If you were to classify this group they would probably be thrown into the genre of Industrial Rock/Metal. They remind me alot of the heavier side of American Head Charge. Industrial music ,while not vastly popular, and not near as mainstream as most of the crap being produced today, is steadily on the rise. I would say that Rikets is in the top half of their teir, in their genre. With that being said if you are into heavy music or really into Industrial Rock/Metal then this EP will definately not disappoint you. A very solid effort from these guys, with all the tracks being well over average. I can't wait til they release a full length album. 4 Stars !!

Awesome Album,

AFTD is a bad-ass cd from start to finish. Rikets sounds a lot like early Sw1tched, maybe with heavier vocals. The mix of industrial and metal is done to perfection. Also, don't let the album title fool you...this is NOT an album about the devil: it's only a metaphor for the evil we worship in today's society (aka money, fame, etc.) I would defiitely recommend this album to any fan of hard rock/metal. In fact I bought the album twice: when it was first released with a different cover and signed by the band, and then when it hit store shelves.

It's everything you expect from the industrial/black metal genre,

The Good
You can tell just from the album cover and title what you're in for here. Industrial effects are demolished by crushing riffs during the opening of "Useless". Vocalist Scott Rose walks the fine line between manic screamer and tortured vocalist. Despite the fury and anger, the chorus comes off with shades of melody. Rose switches from creepy to furious with his vocal work on "Hollywood". He's backed up by a wall of distortion as he describes how fake Hollywood truly is. I was quick to dismiss "Blister" as an all out scream fest, but it's more of a multifaceted vocal arrangement. One again the rhythm section leaves you ears ringing. Chunky riffs and evil snarls give way to somber tones, and vice versa on "Bitter Words". The EPs title track may just be the rally cry theme song of the Dark Lord. The Bad Nothing notable The Verdict This isn't usually the kind of music that I enjoy, but this album somehow drew me in. It's everything you expect from the industrial/black metal genre (The group even looks the part). The Anything for the Devil EP is chock full of catchy, devastating riffs and hardcore, angry vocals that have just the right amount of melody. Get your gauze pads ready, because the blood from your ears will be coming early.

WOW!! Riket's Anything for the devil does not disappoint..They Bring Back that industrial Metal sound that you just don't find anymore but with a twist.Very heavy yet Melodic and catchy at some points.Scott Rose Probably the greatest Singer ever he go's from dark and creepy to furious in a split second..and im gonna have to agree with another review..it does not have to do anything with the DEVIL!! I hung out with these guy's and talked about whats behind the lyrics and its totally about the evil that we worship in today's society...A Must have..hopefully They release There full LP cause this has been out for quite some time. But great album non the less.

Rikets is AWESOME............everything there is to love in the metal/industrial world is included on this release. My only gripe is that with only 5 songs, it is way to short.........here's hoping that this band sticks to it long enough to come out with a proper full length in the near future

I was very disappointed in this Album. I was under the impression that the hit "Pickles And Retards" was on this album, but was crushed to find that it wasn't seeing as that is a Withering Testicle song. www.witheringtesticle.tk
