I just loved this book and so did my children. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful, the story is imaginative and fanciful (which is lacking in so many other children's books these days).

This book is a must have for any young child!!!!

My two and four year old both love this book. One of my favorites. They can really relate to the story and imagine the animals we have seen at the zoo coming to OUR house. The pictures are beautiful.

The book is worth buying just to look at the illustrations alone.

Great appeal to anyone who enjoys going to the zoo or for kids planning their first trip.

Captures the child's imagination with a little bit of silliness. A great book for young children to have.

My daughter is 4 and she loves this book. We read it every night and she can tell us the story just by looking at the pictures. We buy this book for everyone, it's excellent.

My kindergartener loves this book and selected it for her grandma to read to her K class on a visit. The class was thoroughly engaged -- I'd say "on the edge of their seats" except they were sitting on the floor :-) Anyway -- they got all excited with what they knew was coming when the main character says of her zookeeper friends, "Oh yes -- they know just what to do if anything ever goes wrong at the zoo!" The entire class fully enjoyed the rest of the book too -- "Look, here comes the alligator!" We have a large kids' library, and this one is a frequent request. (And yes, the illustrations are lovely.)

I bought this for my three grandaughters, age 3 and twins age 2. I like to buy books that reflect their experiences, and I gave them this after a trip to the zoo--they enjoyed it. Cute story and attractive illustration.

While this book has nice watercolor illustrations and a good premise, it lacks plot and substance. Our heroine tells the zookeepers that if anything ever goes wrong at the zoo they can bring the animals to her house. So, when a flood occurs, the animals appear at the doorstep. Hilarity could ensue, but it doesn't. The animals just go back to the zoo in the morning. The only indication that there might be a problem with a zoo in a house is the image of Mom filling a cleaning bucket on the last page. It's an idea that got started and but never finished. I guess it could be good for a very small child, but I don't think the illustrations would appeal to the very young, lacking bright colors. An older child who can appreciate the art will want more story.

This is great book about zoo and i love it.
