I bought Jack's book after seeing him on screen in Ben Hur as Varus? once again on Christmas Day on TCM. I always enjoyed his work in Bridge over River Kwai and other films. I didn't realize his first wife was Jessica Tandy. Sadly it seems Jack was one of the cigarette victims who first lost his voice and then his life. He is long gone now(1973) but still remembered. He lives on in his films.
