What a wonderful idea! So many good suggestions that I am able to use daily with virtually no cost in dollars or time. Had I known before that getting in shape could be so easy I could have saved years of frustration. I like Joan's advice so much that I am ordering books for all my customers (I am a business owner). Highly Recommended. :-)

Excellent book - ingenious, lively, and practical!,

If you know you should exercise, but can't set aside half an hour for a workout, this book will get you moving - in two- or three-minute bursts. At the end of the day, you will have burned extra calories and given your body all the other benefits of a standard workout. I recommend it to anyone who is currently sedentary - and also to those who exercise but would like to do a little more. The trick, as Joan Price explains, is to tuck extra activity into your day. She misses no opportunity to set you in motion. Taking a shower? Don't just stand there and drip - scrub the walls; do some stretches; work some muscles (believe it or not, your washcloth can turn into exercise equipment). The book is filled with ingenious exercise ideas, starting with morning wake-up and continuing through the day. She includes workouts for auto trips and hotel stays; suggestions for getting a little action while you're on the phone; ideas for stroller-pushing parents - and much more. Instructions are clear; the writing is lively, friendly, and encouraging. An excellent book! Sarah Wernick

This is a good book if you already know how to do the suggested exercises, but I was sort of lost without diagrams or pictures. This book is organized situationally, that is, it gives you exercises to do in certain situations, like at the office or in the car...you get the picture.
I was looking for something a bit more instructive, not how to squeeze exercise into a busy day. I have a set time for that. Still and all, the book delivers what it purports to deliver: If you have trouble fitting exercise into your life, then this is a good book. If, like me you're trying to get ideas for exercises, with diagrams and whatnot, then keep looking.

I just got this book yesterday and I am really enjoying it. I didn't expect it to be so funny! (I always like a bit of humor along with my exercises.) I am an aerobics instructor so I read a lot of exercise books. I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorites.I think I'll just go and "floss" my thighs now...

If you are serious about weight control,

This review is from: The Anytime, Anywhere Exercise Book: 300+ Quick and Easy Exercises You Can Do Whenever You Want (Paperback)
Weight control - maintaining it or losing it - requires three things: time, increase of calorie expenditure, and reduction of calorie intake. You didn't put all of those pounds on in one year - you won't loose them for good in one year either. Think 5 to 10 years - you do plan to be around that long, don't you? Ms Price's book shows you how to gradually, but permanently, come to burn more calories in your day to day life. The Anytime, Anywhere Exercise Book is a portal to enduring weight control through a more active lifestyle. Pick an exercise that fits your current activities. Two months later, add a second. Soon you are looking for and finding ways to strengthen your body, heart, and burn calories. No, you will not be using all 300 of her suggestions. For the third component, reduction of calorie intake, look elsewere.

Joan Price Does it Again,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Anytime, Anywhere Exercise Book: 300+ Quick and Easy Exercises You Can Do Whenever You Want (Paperback)
I have all of Joan's books, because she actually makes exercise fun, but this may be my favorite. I kept thinking I was too busy to exercise and have instead found that I can add together exercise "minutes" to make up a great fitness program. Who knew I'd be exercising in the shower with my wash cloth???? P.S. This book is my new favorite gift item. I bought it as a birthday gift and for both mothers and fathers day gifts, and everyone loves it.

Joan Price has captured the essence of how to become sleek, trim, and fit in this delightful non-fiction book informative, fun and quirky enough to serve as both a self-help book and whimsical gift item.
Joan's core message of going out of one's way to walk stairs, park further, and put more energy into the simple movements of every day life will definately yield positive fitness results when internalized and practiced.

I was wrong in thinking that this book would provide pictures/images/diagrams of the exercises. "Anytime ANywhere Exercise" book should read "Read this book, so you can work out later, and not be sure if you're doing it right." The instructions were poor and the layout was terrible. Bad.

Excellent for People of All Ages,
This review is from: The Anytime, Anywhere Exercise Book: 300+ quick and easy exercises you can do whenever you want! (Paperback)
I ordered Joan Price's Better Than I Ever Expected and Naked At Our Age books based on a recommendation of a friend who also told me about books like Seasoned Romance and Ruth's Sex at Fifty.
I've become a fan, so I ordered Joan's Anytime, Anywhere Exercise Book. It's excellent, too! If there is anything I've discovered reading the sex-over-50 books is that fitness is a common theme among seniors who want to rekindle the romantic flames. This book is a perfect solution! Unless you've been a senior and have bought into the notion that sex is over (or greatly diminished) at our age, you can't begin to understand what it means to read books like this, especially when you realize that life and lovemaking--and fitness--can actually be better as you get older! Thanks, Joan Price, for this book. I'm incredibly grateful. So is my husband of 57 years who is in the process of becoming a fit, lovemaking machine! Who would have thought that he would buy in so profoundly, but he explains that he is definitely enjoying the difference a leaner, fitter body is making in my life.

waste of money,

I was very disappointed in this book. There are no illustrations at all, and the descriptions are not that great. If you want a really good muscle toning/sculpting book, buy David Kirsch's, "Sound Mind, Sound Body". It is beautifully illustrated with plenty of exercises that can be done without equipment. He breaks it down by body part, and offers basic and advanced versions of the exercise. His book is worth the money!
