4.0 out of 5 stars The King of Love!, January 23, 2000
This review is from: Anytime (Audio CD)
I think those that were disappointed by this c.d. should really give it a chance. Yes, he may have taken the beats from another song, but come on his voice alone makes the c.d. worth the money! No one is perfect and I haven't seen a male R&B male compare to Mr. McKnight yet (him and R. Kelly). Even R. Kelly has taken some beats and made it sound wonders! I loved this c.d. not only because of the love ballads, but because Mr. Knight tried something different. He not only got with Mase on this album, but he went back with a wonderful spritual called When The Chariots Come that will bring you to tears ( I know it did for me). When your an artists you can't just stick to one thing all the time, like humans (which he is, lets not forget)can't stick to the same t.v. show or cereal everyday. We're forgetting everyone isn't perfect and that's why they call it being different, changing the pace, or coloring outside the lines. I would recommend this c.d. to all you Brian McKnight fans and those who haven't heard one of his c.d's, because you won't be let down!

5.0 out of 5 stars Anytime...is a good time., June 20, 2001

I simply love Brian McKnight's music. He keeps getting better and better. I played this CD so much that I got one for work and one for home. He's mastered the ballad. His voice is so smooth, and so mellow. This album can be listened to whether you're at your highest high or lowest low--it's a CD for all moods. I even found myself dancing to the uptempo grooves. It's so hard to pick out a favorite song on this album, but near the top are "The Only One for Me", "Til I Get Over You" and "Anytime".

3.0 out of 5 stars SHORT CHANGED, November 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Anytime (Audio CD)
Most vocally gifted man I have ever heard, but you wont know that on this album. I think Brian is doing what a lot of "talented" artist are doing today, relying heavily on production. His first two albums displayed his voice to the fullest, singing to orchastral type instruments and mellow beats wich didn't overpower his voice. Brian would command more respect if he stoped trying to appeal to the masses and avoid collaberating with other producers. For anyone who disagrees with me, just listen to the first album, and then imediatly listen to this one. BIG DIFFERANCE!
