First and foremost, yes, it works. I've been punching holes through sheets of aluminum, and it does indeed get the job done.

But, it is sloppily manufactured. There is a screw on one side of the tool, right in the middle between the two handles, that has to be removed to change the upper portion of the matching punch pieces -- but the poor quality of the drilling, threading and fit between the pieces joined by this screw mean that you have to have super-human strength to get this screw in and out.

Also, the so-called instruction sheet is a laughable half-sized sheet of uselessness. It has a picture with lines and numbers that are supposed to identify the pieces, but the picture and numbers are so small that they don't print correctly, and so they are unreadable. If you have to do a bit of guess work to figure out what the instructions might be trying to tell you -- I guess using even a single full-sized sheet of paper was too expensive.

So, this is proving to be a useful tool, but I wish it had been made by someone who cared about quality, and not someone who didn't care about anything. Nice idea, but very bad execution.

I make novelty signs and real estate signs and was using a drill press to put holes in my steel and aluminum signs. The drill press was messy and cumbersome to use and would leave burrs around the permimeter of the hole. I found this tool by Anytime Tools on Amazon and figured I'd give it a try as it wasn't expensive. It does a good job. I haven't owned it long enough to speak to it's longevity, but it does the job that I bought it for. No more metal shavings to clean up from the drill press and the quality of the finished product (my signs) is better as well. Money well spent.

He says it works great and he took it to his job at the dealer. He uses it professionally at a car dealer body shop.

Got one of these for a friend.
Who needs for intermittent use.

I have the original Whitney Aircraft punch probably 50+ years old.
This item is a direct copy of my Whitney punch .

Issues in comments re jamming screws etc not seen on the high quality Whitney.
It is as smooth as you know what.

For long life industrial use the high Quality version like mine...
It is still around as a new item, but about 10X + the price!

These style punches save untold time doing sheetmetal, roof guttering, car patching , electrical.
The better the punch the better and cleaner the hole.

All in all a reasonable tool for the price.
