5.0 out of 5 stars Solid
This record is solid - from beginning to end. Vocalist Barry Lott's voice cries out to be heard. If you haven't listened to Camber yet - you should. They're what indie music is all about.

2.0 out of 5 stars A poor follow-up
If you have 'Beautiful Charade,' you'll understand why this album is a poor follow-up LP. There aren't any standout songs on this album, like there were on their debut. It quickly made its through my stereo.

This review is from: Anyway, I've Been There (Audio CD)
This record lies somewhere between the lovers and the haters. True, Beautiful Charade is better. That's not to say Anyway I've Been There is bad, just different. Barry's writing has grown up quite a bit between albums. The music is more complex with even more dissonance between guitars. While Beautiful Charade painted somewhat of a tender agony, here we find just flat out desperation and hurt. It might not be for everyone, but this is very good songwriting.

The final track, Home Movies, is easily the best song the band penned. It tells the tale of ambivalence and loss, looking back on the past. The record is worth the price for this song alone. But the rest is pretty damned good too.

There is a lot of emotions brewing on Camber's sophomore release, listening to this album stirred up many emotions in me as well. This band was introduced to me by my best friend when he played Beautiful Charade for me, this album goes beyond the first one, adding different sounds to their musical palatte. My favorite song on this album is "Spirit Gum". All i'm saying is buy this album
